Wow Tony amazing progress! I love how fast you are putting things together. Just getting back from Europe, I too am getting used to seeing clears as well... Looking forward to meeting up when I get back out to school

Just a quick update. I took of the front bumper and was able to paint the grill with some krylon fusion gloss black paint. Along with that I routed up the RLS wiring and tap it into the fuse box and gm5 unit as per this thread . Also I redid the wiring for the V1 hardwire and the auto dimming mirror. I will be planning on routing a few more wires as spare wires and tapped into the fuse box just in case I would like to run a few other things in the future in the headliner.
With all this I am also planning on fixing the A Pillar that is coming apart. It would seem that the windshield replacement that is current on the car wasn't installed correctly. There is extra adhesive sticking to the headliner. I'll have to address this some other time when I decide to have a oem windshield replacement.
Everything looks good buddy. I apologize I haven't made any faster progress on your FXR retrofit, but I will be getting on it very soon. Hoping to get it done soon enough to send back up to you...
Take your time bro. More on the DIY than getting it back to me. I'm fine with the current setup for the time being :)
Nice. Think I used the same paint for my grill.
Today I just got a package from Scott from Cali with the correct 3 parts needed to change my 325 performance intake airbox to an 330 performance intake airbox. I will do some tests to see which one I would prefer. Picking up filters in the morning from napa.
In addition, tomorrow the concealed V1 display is coming in and I will be modding it to fit inside the rear view mirror. Oh the mods I am doing :)
Place my order for the eonon d5150. Now I won't have the oem single din head unit with a large pocket underneath to nicely fit my iPhone side ways to view waze while driving.
Napa gold 6301. BMW discontinued theirs.

Haha car was actually and still is pretty dirty but a lot of mods going into the car soon. I'll have to post a very long update once I get everything all set up. :)
Yeah, from that pic you would never guess just how dirty Tony's ZHP really was. He did an awesome job brushing off the dirt to get this awesome pic :thumbsup

Haha that and bird poop :p
Over the weekend I was able to replace the entire rear sub-frame with the one Chad provided me. As you all know I wanted to do that during the mafia meet but it was too much work to accomplish it all in one day without the proper tools. I have to say what I learned from the whole job was to do what was necessary only. We had a few set backs but manage to get everything accomplished. My rear differential boot is totally gone. I'll provide photos of it later. I am just happy that I can shift now without hearing a large clunking noise.

Tony, glad to hear things are much better :thumbsup
Good stuff tony!
What setbacks did you encounter? I'm just curious.

Happen to undo the bolt from the frame of the car at one of the four points on the subframe. It was a PITA trying to put it back into the body of the car without dropping the subframe again. That's about it for difficulty.
Glad you defeated it! Nicely done.

That is a definitively pita. Glad you got it sorted out.

I didn't know you were taking that on just yet- congratulations!
Well I was going to do a oil change today but instead I added a quart of oil since the oil is about 8k old. I'll probably do the next one at 12k or once the oil light comes back on. I am pretty happy now that there isn't really a major oil leak or anything and that the ZHP actually doesn't burn that much oil compared to my XI. Other then that I did happen to put on the Beyern Mesh wheels I got from Charlie. All I have to do now is get some tires to replace the current tires. Not sure if I should just go all season or just go with summer at the moment since it's getting close to fall/winter period.
As for the mods I am putting things on hold at the moment due to a trip coming up to Hawaii. It will be an amazing adventure as it's my first time. Too bad I can't drive my car around the island :(.

Well, you can drive it around Hawaii, but that would make your trip that much more expensive. :)
Enjoy Hawaii, love it there! Depending on the island, you'll likely spot the imola zhp that we all post about in the "spotted" thread when we visit there. :)
You have a semi growing out the back of your car... might want to have it looked at.
New rims from Charlie :) and rear tires. Hankook Ventus V12.
Still have to adjust the alignment. Having a New England car makes it hard to unfreeze everything.

Very nice, a very classic, but good looking wheel.

Congrats. Looks good.
:thumbsup
Thanks all. I'm going classic and simple as possible. Nothing too fancy like Charlie yet. Maybe just a ts3 exhaust sometime in the future.
Finished the headunit installation. Now I just need to fix the rear view camera to turn on. :)

Thanks again for the DIY. Got a few more goodies for the car soon. :)
Just picked up my winter rims. Style 68 sprayed in a nice graphite color. Buyer was from PA so we met at the Newark airport.
