The “CSL tax” on E46 M aftermarket parts is ridiculous. But I suppose compared to authentic CSL parts it’s nothing ($10k for a pair of front seats with tilting sliders last I saw)

I might have a hard time not buying that if I had an M3.

I installed some LED bulbs into the angel eyes. I'm not convinced I like it though. It definitely modernized the color a bit but in certain angles doesn't fully light up the outer ring due to the design on the ring optics.

I'll leave it in for now.

I think they look good!
The E53 was the same way when we upgraded them. The rings aren’t designed to be super bright like the newer ones.
Yup! And the fact the design was designed around reflective properties of halogen makes LED bulb upgrades look far worse. I did also go into NCSExpert to raise the voltage of the rings to 13.7V instead or a mere 10V like normal. It is still low enough of a voltage where the LED isn't overdriven too much.

You upped the voltage...?
Impressive.

I wish it was impressive. There is an option in NCSexpert to raise the voltage of the circuit. It's merely editing the trace file. :)
Merry Christmas to everyone! (Belated if you are reading this EST time.)

Fair enough. :) Cool that you knew that.

I like the whiter tone of LED than halogen, but you're right, at least from your pics, the more lateral rings don't appear to be as well illuminated. I doubt many people would notice but would probably bother me to no end. You can't go wrong with the OEM halogens though.
Car's looking good, regardless!
You’d think you could somehow either open the housing up and create a shield to bias light another way or for someone to create an LED with a shield for perfect light distribution.
