What did you do for your ZHP/ BMW / MINI today? #2

Use peanut butter on the traps, you can also put a little cheese on it. They say the best way is to actually use PB on the traps without setting them. Then, the rats gets used to it, aren't afraid, and then they go after them quicker, so when you actually set the traps, they are more effective. I'm not that patient so I'd just set multiple traps with PB.

Yes, your hunch is correct - newer silver cube trim is a different shade. It's very noticeably darker, it will not match the older more silver trim so be careful what you buy:

Yep! It was a huge PITA for me as well. I also pull the securing grommets out every time, but I've mastered it except for that center dash pin near the steering wheel. I've probably pulled the trim out about 6-8 times now and never broke anything until yesterday.

As for me, nothing for MY car today, but I managed to get a bunch of work done on an FXR light retrofit for Tony. So far I'm fairly happy with the results. I still prefer the other retrofits though...

Thanks Jon, I'm liking the new trim more and more as time goes by. Still need to get it out in some good sunshine and get a good look at it. Friday for sure........if it doesn't rain.

I'll let you know if I decide to sell. I'd probably try to sell it as a set first though unless there are people interested in some of the other pieces. I probably will decide to sell it.......I'm really liking the new stuff.

I soldered pins 7 and 8 on my new VAG-409-Whatever cable, as required for the coding experiment.

Baby steps. Also discovered that Tapatalk2 for IOS has a photo editor function, for drawing scraggly circles around stuff

Congrats I can run a tutorial lesson tonight. Could you upload photos of the front side of the board as well? Seems like it is different from the one I have.

Today I fixed my failing window regulator using David's (mtnman) excellent DIY. I also managed to make a metallic Reese's cup. F MEEEEEE.

Yeah, there is no way that bolt is coming out... I should switch to studs. Anyway, I think I'll have to go to the stealership and ask them to pretty please use their magic to get the lug off.

This is the other side. It resembles the "newer ones" I've seen talked about in some of the coding threads. I bought it from the link you provided, but who knows what's in production in China from one week to the next. Let me know if you think there's problems.

I'm pretty sure I'm not ready to dive in yet. Is there some of the software loading and stuff I should do ahead of time? Is the car going to want to be on a battery charger while coding? I'm starting a new job tomorrow, and for the first few weeks at least, I'm scheduled 5:00 pm to 1:00 am, Wed-Sunday, so my window of opportunity is going to be Monday and Tuesday evenings, it seems. I'll PM you and midlandtech about trying to figure out a day. He wants to learn, too, and will be looking to use my gear, I think.

Actually I have that board it seems and sure Monday or Tuesday is fine with me. Just text me or call.

No charger is needed. As for software Ill be setting that up as well when we actually do it. Or I can do it before hand if I have access to your computer :p

ohhhh realllllly. That will def come in handy! Now I can just draw a big red arrow instead of posting the picture saying "that thing. you know, that black thing in the picture!!! What is it?!?" :)
