Hey now..
Without Oil Drillers help, that Beemer you have won't be making any curves.
Strip Miners are for Teslas.
Took her to my first track day at Charlotte Motor Speedway yesterday. Car was great, the new suspension really paid off. Feels pretty much perfect. The new weak link are definitely the tires, especially running stock staggered sizes. 245 square would be ideal. It also felt like it really ran out of breath past 4200rpm, but maybe that's just clogged cats and the bugged MS45 tune (haven't gotten the DISA knock fix yet). It very slowly crept up on a R33 Skyline on the oval which has 250hp I believe, so I don't think the car is down on hp. I'll have to troubleshoot more.

Nice! Yeah tires and brakes will be your weakest link - I found the HPS pads are okay to start but if you do a lot of events then you'll wear through them very fast. Tires as well - my Conti ECS did not hold up well with extended use, the heat was just too much.
I feel my power output is similar to yours as well - I do burn some oil so I suspect my cats are somewhat clogged as well.
Also jealous of your ability to take nice pics. And the fact that I've extended storage of my car until end of April - just too busy with school so might as well save a bit of cash, and parts hoard
I've got the HPS pads too, I used to have Cool Carbon ST pads, but they are borderline useless on the street. Took at least 10 60-0 slam stops to get them to bite. The HPS also squeak like crazy, but at least cold bite is OK. For my next set I want to get Carbotech or PFC, which my SCCA friend says are the best options. You might want to check those out too.
Not sure about the tires yet, since it's ultimately still a street car. I think the Ventus RS4 might be the most I can get away with. As for pics, all it takes is strapping a $20 vintage lens onto a big ass sensor and the rest takes care of itself. What you should truly be jealous of is this Spec E46 that only weighed in at 2600lbs. The guy said he has to find ways to increase the weight because it's too light for the class spec now.

Already have a set of DTC-60s ready to go for this summer, trying to stick with what I can get from FCP for the warranty. It'll be a bit of a PITA since it's not a streetable pad, I'll be swapping between that and my HPS for the street.
If you do a lot of events then a set of square style 68s and RS4s are the way to go - the RS4 will wear and grip much better than a street tire on track. Also damn, can't imagine driving an E46 that has 500+ lbs removed, that's insane
Took the long way home from Cars n Coffee again!

Beautiful.
Installed spacers to flush out the tractor more. Now that I have got it all sorted out internally and the engine can full breathe, this car has been transformed yet again.....now I can think about the trivial exterior things. LOL

Looks good Trevor :thumbsup
Feels even better! I always wondered what it was like to drive a really quick car. The Model X I drive is one of the fastest feeling vehicles I've ever driven in city/highway scenario because of how quick throttle response and it's immense torque but now this stage 2 335d just adds to that. The rolling power is equivalent to the V10 Gallardo/V12 SL65 AMG area. Stock diesels lose significant power in the top portion of the rev range but this car just keeps adding which actually feels like it's overpowering the human driver. I just have to give up in fourth gear when I'm approaching 120mph because the thrust feels the same as at 30mph in 3rd. LOL, I'm sure in your 997 TT it easily feels faster than you can mentally deal with! It's an addictive mind ((insert expletive here)).
The key is mastering the control of your addiction so it doesn’t hurt you or anyone else. LOL.
That being said, I still enjoy NA throttle response more in lower speed cornering roads. There is a wonderful degree of throttle control in all sections of any given corner that you don’t fully get with a turbo vehicle and a ZHP is an ideal vehicle for the majority of the fun roads we drive on.
Where I live in BC, the gov’t recommended the use of glory holes to practice COVID-19 safety. So now my car practices safety.
...it’s also for diesel exhaust fluid when you have all the fancy expensive emissions tech intact. Mine had rapid scheduled disassembly as it is the weakest link of the engine, which a part of it happened to fail on me. Now the engine has been bulletproofed. LOL I didn’t mean to have to do this “mod” so early in ownership but when life throws you coal, well you roll it!
...good thing my tune is clean burning and it doesn’t send smoke signals like a volcano spewing ash. But it does accelerate like a pyroclastic flow rushing down the hill enveloping anyone who dares to challenge. [emoji15]

Hahahaha. Speechless I see.
I got out to finally use my DSLR and strobes on the car last night now that it's warm enough to be mucking around at night...

Wow, those are cool pics. I have a Nikon D90. However my skills are very limited.
Photography is very much a tolerance hobby. The sky is the limit. At any level from beginning to professional, when you nail what you wanted to capture and are happy about it, that’s the most important feeling in your efforts. Even if taken by your phone.
So if one wants to get better they can. If it has to be put on hold it’s still OK because no matter what, your own images become priceless gifts to you and hopefully others.
Well said Trevor :thumbsup

And your car is green too. Coincidence?
Lollll. I can't unsee it now.
Went on a 350 mile loop of twists and corners and bends and top gear moments and also.....amazing scenery.

At the end of the journey I was getting close to 40mpg whilst still being able to torque the earth out of every apex at WOT...LOL
I didn't bring my tripod so I had to work with 1/40th of a second handheld @ 4000 ISO during the end of sunset.
That's awesome Trevor!!! Thanks for sharing pics!
