After a month of collecting gunk, I washed all that gunk off. I even cleaned the inside of the windows and the door jambs. My car is sparkling.
it decided to rain here today so I took the time while the car was garaged to clean the alcantera on the steering wheel via the DIY instructions... I was really surprised with the amount of yuck that came off the wheel between the warm micro fiber towel and the magic eraser (didn't do the optional suede cleaner steps) it looks much much better and its not even dry yet :roundel
It's bad. I need a good detail.. It's a shame I can't make it to the reunion since I was planning on having someone giving me a detailing crash course. I feel like my last detail using a clay bar marred my paint because it's way cloudy. But I've been quoted 400-1000 for a professional detailer to do it. So uh, I'd rather not go that course since I don't have enough money to burn. Hell, it was a stretch to buy my clears since I just bought other things for my car and thought I'd be good for a while..
I suppose if the guy or girl were 6' 4" or above and they had there feet up closer to the seat they could hit it but if you just move your feet lower it's easy to avoid. But with your feet up against the front of the floorboard it's no problem.
I probably should have just bought a Dynavin instead of spending so much on a GPS but I wanted it for the gauges (coolant temp mainly) as much as for the GPS. But now that Dynavin has an OBC I might have to think about getting one.
Washed it today too, first time since about Thanksgiving. Been able to drive it quite a bit this winter with the nice weather and it stayed pretty clean if I California Dustered it after every drive. No snow to be found around here and the frozen Missouri River is even breaking up today. It's a balmy 46 degrees right now.
Can you tell if brake discs are done from just looking ?
run your finger along the disc and if you feel ridges/grooves on them they are shot.. if your doing just pads you should look at getting the rotors turned at a minimum (assuming they are turnable)
Less than 2 mm deep.
