I'd do the rotors anyways... but that's just me.
So today I took my headlight apart trying to figure out the FX-R install/burnt bowl solution. I got it all apart and wussed out when I realized I didn't have a freaking clue what I was doing. So that took me about a good six hours... which should indicate to you I have no business doing this in the first place :D
:rofl better luck next time. Maybe the e90 projectors are more suitable for you.
Took in my '03 E39 530i to BMW San Diego for a supposedly VANOS repair under warranty, got a E90 '11 328i AW III Sedan as a loaner. Woo Hoo! BTW, ended up not a VANOS repair is required. But opened up a can of worms on the 5er....and I see big $$$$ flying away.....the can of worms not covered on warranty.
Dremelled the sides of the cf hood more. Sitting much more flush on the sides now. In the spring I will be sending it to a body shop for custom fiber glass fab work around the headlights. From there it will get resprayed all silver and will be complete!
lmao.... I think paying someone else to do it is more suitable for me. Either that or I need to be drinking the next time I try it :shift
Or I could just hold out until bmw recalls them... and pigs fly. Mine are actually burnt right through the bowl. Like as in there's a hole in my bowl. And it's not the hole the bulb goes through, lol. How is this not a fire hazard?!?!?! Especially being right next to a gas engine...
Are any members local to you? I cringe deeply thinking of you paying someone to do that retrofit. Totally custom work and anyone that would touch it would gouge the hell out of you.
Hell box them up and ship them to someone before you do that, or at least pay lightwerkz to do it.
I PM'ed 2 retrofitters on hidplanet.com: Lightwerkz & LightModz. I was quoted $250-300 & $360 (respectively) and LightModz PM'ed me back a long paragraph telling me on how he has had experience with these lights, what he will do, their waiting room, how long it'll take, and also things that he'll do for me. LightWerkz PM'ed me back 2 sentences. I PM'ed back LightModz and they responded very fast saying how they appreciate me asking them and how they hope to hear back from me soon. Very professional people. It almost makes me want to do it now for their awesome customer service. I already know who I'll be going with.
