I can relate but you can't anticipate or plan failure of everything....it will drive you nuts. ;)

I actually had that "feeling" around 170k-ish miles that I should probably order a replacement because I didn't want to be stranded. Me being me, I kept the new one in my trunk until mine failed because I wanted to get my money's worth. It ended up lasting until 191k miles, at which point I pulled into a rest area, had my friend bring me to league, and we went back afterwards and replaced that bad boy. Win. :thumbsup
BP experienced the failed fuel pump scenario first hand with me when mine failed on the ///M a few years ago. We were on the Garden State Parkway and it sucked.....
Whatever you do....try to never fail on any parkway beccause you'll most likely be at the mercy of the contract towing services and they will gouge the crap out of your wallet....12 mile towing to the nearest indy shop I knew of cost $300 that day.....,
Installed AL bi-xenon headlights today. Got the fogs working and replaced shift knob with an illuminated one.

what did you use to paint the speaker grills? Looks good!
It DOES look good.
Thanks guys. They pop right off with a flat tip. I used Dulpicolor https://www.duplicolor.com/products/vinylFabricCoating/ . I guess I could have used gloss, but the flat is what I plan to use on the rear deck. Found it at the auto parts store.
Swapped front seats with Colin's newly refurbed NB so I can get my alc bolster repaired. Thanks for the alc patch Dane!
I think the PO had a small animal that lived under there! Yuck.

That looks ratchet. Glad you're getting it fixed, though!
Lookin' Good Shawn!
Shawn, let me know when you are doing the rear deck (and what to buy for mine), I'd like to return to black instead of the BMW Individual color, "Ocean Indigo" that seems to come standard on E46's!
Also, I finally went by Sure-Fit today, told them about the A-pillars and she immediately said it's better to just go ahead and get the replacements so the fabric matches (also would be cheaper). As for the seat, she said a clean/condition would make them look and feel that much better that you wouldn't mind the slight wear. Otherwise, she gave me the card of another business that could dye the worn areas. Showed her the pictures you sent me of your seat just for kicks and she said you'd have to provide the material and it'd be around $300, "we'd have to take the seat apart yada yada..." They were nice though, my friend was joking about how there I was ready to spend money and they basically were like save it for something more important. Which...I have in mind.
^^ If your alcantara seats are dirty, try the sonax alcantara cleaner. Did wonders on my seat as well as a fabric shaver.
Thanks Dan. I dropped the acl seat off for repair today. $200 for the bolster as the seat is out of the car and I had the fabric.
As for the rear deck, I may get to it this weekend. Not sure. I bought new c-pillar covers for Colin's car but I think I will use them as mine are staring to flap (I stand by my theory about the open windows accelerating the flapping!). I'll then try to repair my c-pillars to use in his car. If that doesn't work I have time to buy new ones for him.

That milestone deserves a celebration. New tires and wheels ... when ?
Tomorrow I hope!

I will be replacing all my pillars as well as the material is hanging off. I know a lady who does upholstery and she told me it would be best just to replace them unless you want to try and do it yourself.
dang 183k

Love me some IR! Great work!
Thanks guys. Gary, i started working on filling the rash on the worst one and stopped. The guy I use for paint, etc said it was easier for him to spot fix them with tires on them. (Off the car and no rubber if a total refinish/repaint though). The BavAuto kit isn't an exact match IMO and I may just let my guy do it for about $150 total (all wheels). I'm sure he'll do a much better job than I.
The car drives so much better. I took the twisty way home and it's raining a bit. She is sure-footed now! Not so much with the previous tires.

Well done, sir !

Studs showed up from Ray today so I hope to get them installed and a set of spacers soon.

Just curious. Why do you need spacers with stock wheels ? Do you need to roll the fenders as well ?
