Xtrons emailed me back: apparently you can’t connect hardwired to the HU with an iPod. Doesn’t make sense why it would come with a preloaded app. Guess I need to get a new iPod Touch

At 107k currently with the car and I’m bored with it, it’s time for a serious change. I’ve decided to try and supercharge the car come spring time. With the mileage on the car, what would you recommend also replacing during this installation that is directly or indirectly effected by the adding of these parts (VF kit not a twin screw)?
Anything in the fuel and ignition system that hasn't been refreshed should be done. If you haven't done plugs lately you should replace those.
The fuel filter has the fuel regulator in it and that pretty important to be consistent so you should make sure that's been replaced recently.
If you haven't checked the rubber bits in the drive train, you should inspect those too. Think engine mounts trans mounts, guibo, center bearing, diff bushings etc. If you haven't done your diff bushings yet, they are probably already torn. I replaced mine with poly because I tore two sets, granted, ten of thousands miles apart but you be adding a significant amount of power and there is a lot of slop in the rubber diff bushings...
The supercharger in my car added over 100 HP and ft lbs of torque. That's pretty significant.
Good your going with the VF because ESS has discontinued the TS series for the e46. The centrifugal should make some decent HP, it will just be further up the RPM band than a twin screw...
All of the crankcase plastic lines
Good point! You'll still be using the stock intake manifold.
Check the condition of all you vacuum lines too. Especially the one that goes to the fuel filter/regulator. That one has a habit of deteriorating.
You should be able to get a hold of the installation instructions before you buy so you can see all that is involved...
Sweet... welcome to the SC club!

Went to harbor freight today and bought a jack for the first time in my life along with some other tools in order to put the Style 135s on for the first time in 1.5 years. Took the first wheel off and quickly realized that they weren't going to fit/didn't know I would need a spacer for the fronts. It's very close to not hitting but it looks like I'll need a 3-5mm spacer. Took the opportunity to clean the wheel wells, backs of the CHs, and the calipers while the front wheels were off. Then I cleaned up the 135s in preparation for when they go on sometime in the near future, just need to source the spacers.
