Took a quick pic after I returned from a run. 30% tint all around. Sooooooooo much better! Stays way cooler and takes id'e say, 60% less time to adjust to the set A/C temp in the cabin. Odd pic too. It looks warped. Wheels look all big and weird.

My poor car, it used to have an owner that cared more about it, I dunno what happened to that guy. I need to snap out of it, I recently came to the realization that this car needs to last me until at least 2018. Not that I would sell it or trade it in at that point, but that is the earliest point at which I will be able to buy my second BMW.
Removed the steering wheel and performed the Alcantara restore DYI using the Mr.Clean Magic Eraser (Original). At first, it didn't seem to make a difference but in the end it turned out pretty well. It does need some patience. The lint remover and a soft tooth brush also help to remove the white bits of Mr.Clean foam and groom it. By the way, I would say that the best way to do it with the wheel off. First, it's much easier and second, the interior is safe from the mess of tiny particles (Mr.Clean foam bits) the process produces. Now the wheel is packed and ready to be shipped to another forum member for a straight swap for a leather version. Sniff... sniff. :( :)

She picked it right up, not surprising as I find that BMW's are great to learn on. I taught my sister about 10 years ago using the same methodology: press clutch and brake pedals, ignore gas. Release brake pedal, assuming you are on level street, and as slowly as humanly possible, release the clutch pedal until the car idles forward, then slowly press the gas pedal.
If you haven't tried, you'd be amazed that you can go from standstill to go without touching the gas in a BMW. I don't recall ever trying this in my Honda / Acura days, but I do recall those clutches having a VERY different feel to them.

I do that all the time too - love the BMW manuals. When I leave my parking garage, I go up to 15 mph without touching the gas at all. The 3.46 rear does help a little, but this is way different than the 2 sloppy-even-brand-new Subarus I drove before I got my ZHP.Quote:
