Ive been back and forth on purchasing these as well, mainly because my brakes all around were done just prior to my purchase. Getting a set may not be a bad idea though

Just make sure you measure after cutting for the second pads. Depending on the pads you use, it will be pretty close...

Is there a tolerance on the rotor for minimum thickness? Or do people not even resurface these rotors. ?

No worries, I just don't know all that much about brakes and wanted to make sure I was on the same page! I'm hoping they'll last for two sets of pads, but not the end of the world if they don't.

BMW rotors aren't supposed to be 'cut'.
The minimum thickness on the rotor allows for one more set of pads to be used with it. So, if you wear out your first set of pads, and the rotor thickness is above the minimum (even if by just a little), it's good to go for one more set of pads, according to my BMW tech friend.

Yea I know that's what they say, we told the tech to just take off the minimum, been driving on them for years now no brake fade,warping or stress cracks. No one cuts flywheels anymore and that was standard procedure back in the day...Normally if they were cheap rotors, I'd just replace them but I wanted to get a little more mileage out of these

People still resurface flywheels today, its way cheaper than buying a new one from bmw lol.
