I guess that this picture was so epic, two cops showed up to admire my work :p ..anyways I think it was worth it (but you guys can be the judges of that) It's Thursday night, at 1:00 am, I looked and looked for a deserted place and finally settled on this residential back road. I parked purposely so people could maneuver around me and also see me (as I was right under a street light). Three people went by and minded their own business, one person waved, and the neighborhood security patrol even passed me by, uninterested. I had no conflicts with anyone, nor did anybody that I encountered even so much as mumble a complaint... yet this is Marin County so after only 5 pictures, two annoyed cops showed up. They pulled up behind my car, lights flashing, and very aggressively ask me what I was doing. I responded that I was taking pictures for a project, that the pictures had to be at night, and this seemed like the best possible (and safest) time to take them. He replied "what!?.. You can't park in the street". I told him that I knew, and I was sorry and it was only for a couple minutes (it's not like I left my car there, I was literally 4 feet away) - I meant no harm but he said "I don't care, what are you doing parked in the middle of the street!? You can't park in a street, man!" At this point I just wanted to leave so I told him that I was done, that I was very sorry, and that I was leaving right away. The two cops kindly escorted me to the nearest intersection - where they pulled up next to each other and talked while I drove off down the road. To be honest, I doubt they got the call because someone saw me in the street. But I'd be willing to bet that someone saw me drive up and down the street a couple of times, very slowly (because I was in no rush, and I was looking for the ideal place), and assumed I was intoxicated (because why else would anyone drive 10 mph under the speed limit at 1am). agh.. Anyways, shooting at night is fun and rewarding. Next time however, I will be far far away from and people whom my actions might offend.
