A little bit thicker than a coke bottle. Think your average beer bottle.

It will work fine for a bottle of that size

Any tips for popping out the coolant expansion tank once all the hoses and clips are removed?

Passenger side on the wishbone control arm (one the spring sits on) . There is a bracket bolted to the arm that holds the pivot arm of the sensor.
