I have to agree with Turner on this one... BMW calipers at the time didn't have any coating on them. Just look at any stock E46; all of the calipers are corroded/rusty looking by now.
Rob's method using DupliColor is probably your best bet. It's cheap and lasts quite a while, depending on what prep work you put into it. Remember, it's all in the prep!
And that's fine but I would have at least liked to have been told that upfront is all. The new ones they sell are painted and when you say something is fully reconditioned I guess I expected them to be at least coated in something to slow down the rusting process. When I got them they literally looked newly painted gunmetal grey.Quote:

Yeah that's good and all, but one can't just do that and "expect" it to still be good after a while. If it is, then great... but the more prep you put into it, the higher the chance it'll come out right. That means, removing all oxidation and rust, as well is giving it a damn good scrub and oil removal. They need to be squeaky clean to be able to reasonably "expect" it to last a long time.
