I know a guy who has a mic placed in his ECU bin that he syncs up when editing, sounds amazing

signed up for Laguna Seca 7/8. Here we go again! :X
I ended up finding a pair of those rear side sunshades. Debating if I want to put them in or not.
Mr Sna77 made me want these even though I have tint... LOL

I will try them out tomorrow. If I don't like them, they are going to the classifieds.

Car looks great! But I think I'd go for dark tint instead of the shades....lol. "baby on board" window cling next? lol
I do have tint! Since I like OEM options this happened to cross my path and I installed it. I don't really like it too much but I'll keep it on for a few more days at the minimum to see if it grows on me. If not, classifieds is goes.
Scored a 3.46 Diff from a tech. Building a parts list for that sucker to go in.
Debating if I want to go performancegearing LSD or not at this present moment since its $2300..
Got a few things on the list to do.
-Oil Filter Housing gasket
-Crankcase lines
Once all that is done, I only have the final power steering H/P line to take care of that is seeping not leaking.
Then its on to modifications!!
Do you wear a hat and have them call you Jeeves?? LOL
Can you show in some better detail how the blinds are mounted?
Steve (Sna77) has a pdf that shows exactly the instructions how it is mounted :)

A good plus is that you can't really see into the car through those shades.
What kind of cost can you get them for?? :)
Wait...Steve is BigPatsFan????? OMG I've been using that webpage for almost 2 years haha!
hmmmm either that or just get tint.....
Gangstaaaahhhhh!!!!!
hmm to spend $2300 on an LSD from Jim Blanton or not..
Depends on if $2300 is worth your control for a certain number of turns on the track and the time savings it gives you.
Yup, that's me!
I bought that domain name back in 1999 during my senior year of college for an IT web design project. I believe that I registered the name and hosting space and paid 5 years in advance through a friend who worked at an internet start up (pretty sure I paid nothing for both--LOL).
I initially built the site as a fan site for the New England Patriots for the class. After I graduated college a few buddies of mine and I bought a 1974 Winnebago for $500, painted it Pats' colors and used it for tailgating games. We kept an archive of our drunken escapades on the site--it was really meant just for us. As we started advancing in our careers, it was decided that we should take it down (drunken photos with stories of passing out at tailgates isn't the stuff you want your boss to see).
Anyhow, when I started putting together DIY's and needing web hosting space for pictures, i just used the old domain name and space I already had. By the time that it was up for renewal (and they wanted to charge me this time) there were too many links out on the 'net that I didn't want to break, so I just stuck with it.
Glad to hear that someone is still getting use out of it though! I mostly just use it as a dumping ground for car pics etc now...
Screen cap of the original site. There was some Macromedia Flash spiinging footballs ont he left, but the version is so old it won't run on the new version of Flash. LOL

To clarify my existence I just ghetto edited the site with my Mafia (and every other forum) name...

For those of you IT geeks out there, I built it in the original version of Microsoft FrontPage waaay back in the day (I'm not a web developer and have no artistic talent whatsoever). Since I'm too lazy to update it ever, I keep it around on a Windows 2000 virtual machine with the old version of FrontPage loaded onto it--solely for the purpose of my about once a year changes. LOL
I remember using your site for some information about compass autodim mirrors :).

I decided to order oem blank rotors for street driving and leaving my performance rotors for racing since swapping pads was becoming difficult to make sure there was no deposits from the track pad layers. Keeping pads and rotors separate from my track brakes seem to help my steering vibration problem after padswaps.

Whooa. What brakes are those? Is that the ECS kit?
you got it steve :]

I'm torn. I got an oppurtunity purchase a 2006 M3 Black/Black Manual 61k on the odo. Got 18s on it, premium and bmw Assist. Torn. Just torned to continue with this ZHP or start from scratch again.
for your External Mic question, when I use to run a production company with my partner this is what we used with our GoPros, this was mainly used in extremely violent off road competitions and worked great.
Sennheiser MKE 400 linked to amazon cuz they are an affiliate
If you need any other help with mic/go pro set ups or knowledge let me know.. I know a thing or two about videography/post process
I'm using a Sennheiser wireless G3 lavalier setup for my interviewing on film....but for those surprise interviews when I can't take time to mic them up...is that a good mic to zero in on their voice and cut a significant amount of background noise compared to the on camera mic? :)
Compared to the on camera mic you will pick up voice very well, its is a directional mic though so anything behind the person you are interviewing you will still hear, but while still picking up that persons voice very clearly. It also has 2 volume settings for how loud you want to pick up that person voice. its a pretty compact mic and for the price, size, etc I think it does an amazing job. You could also replace the "oem" wind sleeve for a "dead cat" and get better results and more pro look. I really like Sennheiser and have also used their lavaliere mics Hope that helps Trevor.
edit: I forgot what I liked most about this mic, it takes a AAA battery and last forever.
P.S. I have been meaning to reply to your PM, just been super busy and didnt want to give a half ass reply.

Sounds like a tough call. Would you be building the m3 for the track the same as the zhp? I think everything would cost a bit more on the m3 and would take a pretty sizeable chunk of change to make fast above what it would on the zhp. Either way, you can't go wrong.
The M3 would definitely become a daily track car. I would need to invest in a fair amount of stuff to get it to the level my ZHP is.
-Brakes (probably would've been stoptech all around)
-Suspension (probably AST4100 for starters)
-Rims/Tires (Unsure but it would've been 18s)
-all the preventative maintenance.
The car looks like there has been no record of Inspection II being performed and being an M3, valve adjustment is needed as well. Water pump looks original as well and the clutch is getting thin.
I decided to pass for something I really want. The price of the M3 was low but it just wasn't exactly what I wanted in an M3. I want a ZCP :)
On a sidenote:
-Oil Filter Housing Gasket
-Crankcase Ventalition System
These will be addressed soon! :)
New rims may come in before July 8th Laguna Seca. I haven't decided yet.
how can you tell the clutch is getting thin? THe grab point is higher than normal?
It was getting high, as well as when redlining the car, it was starting to slip. :(
The car was a trade-in at the dealership. I would've gotten it at trade-in cost + tax/fees
The more I think about it, the only reason I wanted that car was for the extra power and LSD.
