Glad they covered it and a new bumper. Hopefully just a skipped step in the factory, but it is a bit worrisome.

Car is indeed a lemon law/buyback.
But it was because of an airbag light that was contributed to a failed fuse box. I have all BMW records regarding why it was bought back.
It does still have the 4yr, 50k warranty with a 2yr up to 100k extension on service...So if it was in an accident it wouldn't make sense why they would buyback and maintain warranty.
To add on, when we were at BMW looking at the bumper we checked all other 1 series bumpers on the lot to see if they were painted the same way (on the edge of the bumpers, there is like a 1/8" gap from where the paint is and where the clearcoat starts...pretty noticeable. They were all the same painted, so that kinda rules out a 3rd party bodyshop I would assume
This is such a huge PITA

I think I also have a bad ground somewhere, I'll look for that once I get this pos in
Honestly, I think I'm gonna have to remove the intake manifold. If so, I'm changing this rubber bellows and gonna find an E12 528i 65mm throttle body

If anybody sees an E12 at the junkyard, please pull the TB for me!
I managed to get all the bolts/nuts off the starter but it won't budge... looks like I have to remove the AFM in order to remove the front support bracket for the starter. Will work on it some more when I get home tonight.
Oh man. You said it would be a PITA job, sorry it's turning out that way. GL!
FUBAR...

To recap ongoing issues I'm finding
Alt mount broken (already knew that, got a new one)
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/17/eqe5ute8.jpg
Both radiator hanger bushing things have broken off the rubber part and I can't get the other half out
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/17/ana5egyn.jpg
I have no idea how to get this coolant hose off (it's next to the block behind the fuel distributor)
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/17/asa9utys.jpg
Other end is under the intake manifold by the throttle body

...and it's hard as a rock, I need to change it so it doesn't burst on me
Check out my plugs, changed these 20k miles ago when I got the car :(

Still haven't got even got AFM out, starter looks like it's still gonna be a few days away
WHOA! howd the plugs get so much crap on them so soon? Aren't plugs normally good for at least 60k?
Good luck brother!
looks like you've got a good deal of work ahead of you. From looking at what I can see of the plugs, you may have multiple issues going on.
