Sounds like you have a good strategy for finding the issue though while taking care of some PM at the same time. If none of that cures it I'd consider getting the update done. Are you getting any codes? Any hidden codes? Mine would occasionally have a hidden 2974 Peake code. Never did, and still haven't, had a CEL on my ZHP.
