Assuming the threads are the same on both ends of the stud, (not always the case) you could even make a new stud by cutting the head off a suitable sized bolt. Just screw a nut on before cutting the threads so you can screw the nut back off to clean up your cut threads.

It's getting late in the day now but you could try a farm implement dealer or better yet a Caterpillar dealer. Cat has a great selection of quality hardware and they may have longer hours than a hardware store etc. Sometimes the service dept is open longer than parts and maybe the service manager would help you out.Quote:

An LSZ unit with SW 4.0 has officially made its permanent home in the space beneath my driver's side air vent.
It has been recoded, now has the correct mileage and VIN (no tamper dot), and has some extra goodies coded in, triple blink being one of them.
Oh. I see the jacked stud now. It should be fairly loose.

Aint that pretty! I wouldn't give a second thought to leaving that in permanently. No need to replace that with a stud. Shoulda kept my mouth shut about drama I guess. :biggrinQuote:
