Work continues on my car. Since it's in there, they are doing the bumpers (front and rear) to perfection. I'm paying for that separately but that's going to be sweet. The other good news is that the are not going to try to repair the top, but rather get a new one (duh!) :) Insurance is paying for that.

picked up my car from the shop and after thoroughly checking my new VANOS is exactly that... new and not a reman unit FTW! (apparently there is a different pn in the system for used units)
I was kinda disappointed to have to return the 335d, that was a fun car to drive for the past few days
