Pull that spark plug out and see what it looks like. Could be a coil going bad.
You found fronts, Shawn??

Colin had a bad tire (drove on it with very low psi) and had to order new ones. He went with two rears --DWS 06 in 245/35/18.

Nice. What is on the front ?
I did that before, they call it the ring of death lol. How much did the 2 rears cost out of curiosity. I went 255/35/18, why did he go 245?
He's still running the normal size up front (225?).
Went with 245 b/c we didn't think he needed that much meat in the rear and they were quite a bit cheaper ($167/ea).

Ok.
If this isn't a good idea. Plz let me know ASAP.

You can plug the sizing into here https://tiresize.com/comparison/
Basically the tire sizes are pretty identical. But there is a slight difference between the 255 vs 245 width.
Personally I would have stuck with the factory sizing even if the zhp does not need a 255 section width in the rear. It is just the sidewall is going to be smaller on the 245/35/18 and a slight speed difference.
Thanks team. Bruce and Dane both confirmed this also.

Colin got the 245/35s installed. All seems to be fine (though I have yet to see the car in daylight...)

Looks good.
Those pros definitely outweigh the minor cons. It was purely a looks thing to put that much meat on there and even just having a staggered setup provides enough of that.
Plus we go through tires so fast you can always switch back if it's worth more to stay stock stay worry free...but I'm curious what he thinks after some driving time.

Cool.
:(
Do you think there is any structural damage?? I'm guessing not since impact was at a slow speed...

No I don't think anythings wrong except all the front end parts.

Curious to know how much damage is calculated. Keep us updated
Stopped by today and talked to the two USAA guys. One likes BMWs a lot and was sorry to say he's pretty sure this one is a goner. They had not seen it but I had it pulled around so I could return the spare tire I borrowed over the weekend... he looked at the engine bay and asked about the headlights...figured $1200/each. cross member is bent above radiator. Wan is shoved back--he said you never know when an impeller or other internal parts are damaged (until they come apart after the car has been repaired)... I broke the news to Colin that it was not looking too promising. He's really not sure what he wants to replace it with. He's thinking about a beater that will just get him back and forth to work until he can get what he really wants (New-ish 4-runner?).
Sad to hear. Colin doesn't want to try and get back into an E46?
Not sure William, we are looking...he did love the car and has no idea what else he might like.
USAA called, total loss and payout is $8570 with taxes included. I'll speak to the Total Loss department tomorrow and provide some "comps" on what the car is really worth...
Sorry to hear. It was a nice car.
Ouch! Sorry to hear about that [emoji24]

Shawn, buy it back and sell it to Bruce's friend.
