What's the cost and procedure for getting vanity plates anyway?
The process in Missouri:
1. Check the plates you want on the state website to make sure what you want has not already been taken (I initially sent in my one choice, which was already taken, so they returned my submission 45 days later)
2. Print form from the web, fill it out and send $15
3. Wait 30 days
4. New plates are delivered to your local DVM office
5. Pay $3.50 to trade in your old plates for your new ones
amazingly simple for a government process
Gumbi over in the e39 subforum of bf.c has one that has always intrigued me

Haha. No. The plate on the X5 is "ZHPBOSS."
Jeff, do you have the url for MO to check availability? I've never been able to find it.
Thinking about registering my car at school which would mean a switch from Jersey to Florida plates.
Im thinking "Imola" is going to be the winner.
But all of the "M3 lol" and "AMG lol" type stuff made me think of "ZSP lol"
Or that. I was gonna say, you could get away with it out of state. Nice.
i was deciding between O4 ZHP and ZHPFTW for ohio and then shat a brick when the price was three times the price of a normal registration.
So I just renewed my crappy random letter/number plate
ZHP PWR
ZHPZOOM
4 DOOR M or 4DR M3 :)
DRVN ZHP
4DR ZHP
1HOTZHP
....
ugh, I have been stuck trying to think of one for mine for awhile :-/
So many great ideas, and so much fun tyring to decide. I went with the low profile approach used by ZHPNSNV awhile ago.
I tried to get 6ZHP330 and 5ZHP330 though the CA registration system failed on both my orders during the final payment processing, then comes up and says plate is no longer available. I wonder if it is because they would be normally occurring in the random sequence used by the state?
For those not familiar, 1ABC234 is the standard CA numbering currently. Most of the new cars I see are 6V..... in my parts of northern California, so 6ZHP... is not close to entering the rotation yet.
Summary of others tried:
ZHP taken
+ZHP taken
330+ZHP taken
ZHP FTW is available
I ended up with this:

meh, I just picked one. Ill have a pic up in 8-12 weeks when it arrives. long wait! :(
Which did you pick? Or is it a surprise?
I figured I would just show a pic, but I dont think anyone cares enough for it to be a surprise. haha. I picked COOL ZHP :mafia(we are allowed a half space anywhere on the plate even with 7 characters).
Reason being: my old Turbo Z had 1COOLZX, so I thought I would keep the theme going.
I like it. :thumbsup
aw thanks!
I think ZHPVERT would be pretty cool.
i was going to have to pay nearly $300 for a 5 year term. i guess it's not that bad, but still seems like a lot up front.
(i will probably get one at some point)
Ordered my Cali personalized plates today.
WEGOHAM
:rofl

:like
Ham and Pork together would be pretty funny.
I have one a USC tag which is $25 on top of the reg tag fee. I could pay and additional $30 to personalize the 4 characters.
I've had my USC tag for about 6 years now....
