if you depress the roundel there is a little flashlight built in that lights up so you can see the lock. You can kinda see the cutout on the left side/bottom of the black plastic part

JP, the M5 lit shift knob costs $124.52 from Tischer BMW. The part number is above the picture. As far as I know, there's no lit 5-speed shift knob available, sorry...

oh well, I'll prob just get a ZHP knob w/5MT pattern

Just black. Debating on getting a can of glossifier to get it to be more satin since my car can't pull off white or any other color
