Thanks Fredo. Letting it sink in. I think I like it too. The old plastic was hazy on the inside and pretty beat up on the outside.
I tried to polish it clear but realized it will be hazy.
The yellow film, totally cleaned it up.

Cleaned the inside of the cluster today because there was dust in it in spots.
Installed a small painted lip on the trunk. Looks great, but car is filthy from salted roads and it's cold, so no pics.
Carmax took a last wack at the car to stop the A-pillar leak. They brought in their leak expert who (I think) injected a warm butyl-like black substance between the painted surface of the foremost panel and the seal (the one attached to the panel, not the windshield, that's the one the BMW dealer replaced in vain).
Looks clean. We'll see. I will report back. You can see the wet looking line in the pic below.

Well the leak specialist they had come to the Carmax in my my town to repair my leak knew his stuff.
After lots of long rainy days, I can tell the car is dry and the A pillar leak is gone!
I now have a leak somewhere in the windshield washer/ headlight cleaner line.
Not hot enough to go out there and work on things yet.
