Another one I let go way too long... It's not perfect, but I honestly didnt think there was any bringing it back, so I never tried..

What did you use to clean it? I really need to clean mine.

I was looking on the Coby site to price out a new steering wheel, and they have cleaning instructions. Basically, a nylon nail brush, and a damp new microfiber towel. Small circles with the brush, followed with every other direction. Warm damp cloth wringing motion, let it dry, and repeat.
It took me awhile due to the heavy build up of dirt/oil. I might do it again later, there is still a few spots that feel like leather. But damn, it's quite a difference.
I would suggest to everyone, don't put it off. If I would have done this a year ago, I bet it would have looked like new again.

Before wrapping my steering wheel, I used some Sonax Alcantara Cleaner.
It produced the nastiest, most disgusting goopy gray shit I've ever seen.
Alcantara sucks; Leather is a natural living breathing material that absorbs and processes the goop. Alcantara just absorbs the decades of shit.
I just cleaned mine up also. 3 microfiber towels turned black later and my wheel looks new! (Oh and some light sanding to remove the pilling). I like the alcantara!
I used the Griots Garage heavy duty leather cleaner and a brush and towels. It worked great. I was doing the seats in my E38, which that cleaner made a night and day difference on. It's incredible!
