Something that may benefit future owners who choose this project - Dimitri now offers "plug and play" harnesses for a few extra dollars which precludes the need to mess with the wires yourself. I opted for this and it made things super simple - just plug in the harness and module into the car's connectors and then plug the adapter harness into the cluster.

I sent a message to that address with a brief rundown of what I was needing and a reference to this thread - he responded promptly and we were able to work out everything over e-mail.

A small update: Paul at Fixels offered to fix the mileage on my cluster free of charge after I explained the 300k kilometer quirk of our LCM units to him. Quality work, quality individual. Highly recommended for this project.

What is the 300k quirk? I've heard of the "rpm dip" but not this!

E46 LCM units only record up to 300k kilometers, so after that only the mileage in the EWS and IKE modules will match when you look at them. This is only a concern when you try to use the LCM to apply the car's mileage to a cluster that's been reset to zero. Paul mentioned he has a spare E39 LCM he will use to push the correct mileage to my cluster.

Dimitri reached out to me recently and informed me that the 300k glitch in the LCM can be overcome by simply changing the mileage in PASoft/BMW Scanner to match the EWS and IKE modules, stating it will continue counting correctly afterwards. I plan to try this out for myself in the near future.

In the same message he mentioned to me that he also does work on E6x, E7x, E8x, and E9x clusters. I'll probably do more business with him for the 128i down the road. M clusters for everything!!

When I began my M3 gauge cluster retrofit for my ZHP I reached out to Dimitri and he was awesome to work with enabling me to get my M3 gauge cluster retrofitted into my ZHP. Why I made this DIY to share with other ZHP owners. Glad to see this DIY has helped others
