    Unhappy Reverse Mirror Dip

    Hey All!

My ZHP is a manual swap, it is worth noting the seats have also been swapped as well with f22 seats. (Not sure if that may be an issue with the mirror dip as well).

The mirror does not dip down in reverse as it should. I have tried wiring it with x428 and 11176 pin 7 according to all forum posts I?ve found. Did that about 3 times now. All it does is bring up a windshield washer light on the dash. Mirror does not dip down.

I?d like to think I?m doing it correctly, as I can?t find any actual guides on YouTube to go by and compare. Is there anything that I may be doing wrong??

What is the correct AWG wire size? May it be the seats that were swapped causing a failure to link? (As I?ve read that may be an issue somewhere as well).

Really starting to bug me with how many times I?ve tried and can?t seem to get it working.

These are the links I?m following:

I seem to recall that if you have your rearview mirror switch to either left or right side adjusting, the tilt function doesn't work (in one of the two positions).
Am I right? Perhaps those with working configurations can chime in.
Could be a hint. I am not sure how wire size would really affect this function.

Yes, in my car the switch needs to be flipped to the left for the passenger mirror to dip when I shift into R.

Thanks, that is what I thought.
Did you try to see if this function still works in your system OP?

Yes! Originally tried that, figured I’d switch it around make sure everything was still working properly within the movement of the mirrors. Was still in reverse when doing so.

    So that wasn’t the issue:/

But wait, have you put a volt meter at the wire controlling the dipping motor and turn the switch in the driver side door to the left, put it in reverse, and seen 0 V at the wires? Cause that mean THAT switch is not working (not sending 12V to the dipping motor).
Should be able to turn that passenger door switch to see either 12V or 0V when you put that sucker in reverse.

Unfortunately I don't have input but this car seems familiar... is this Tyler's old car?

I have not used a volt meter! I did not think of that one actually. I’ll definitely do that, as well as checking the connections themselves. From the fuse to the gauge cluster to see if it is properly wired on my end too.

Yes it is hahaha, picked it up off a buddy of his.
