Dane, this was about 2 minutes before the herd of seals turned on me and went into attack mode. This little guy was guarding them evidently and wouldn't take his eyes off of me. I actually went inside the boundary (set up by activists) and was up close and personal. They were okay with it, for a few minutes.
Childrens Pool in La Jolla definitely has its own unique and distinct smell. Get down in the sand with the seals and it becomes apparently stronger.
I kind of like the smell. It makes me feel like Bear Grylls.
