So I just opened up my airbox and I definitely need a new filter! I am planning on getting an intake within the year but for now how are the K&N filters? Any gains from them?

Minimal gains. Changes the sound a lil.

I've always heard when running w/ the K&N filters, there is a risk of contaminating the MAF...

I have never heard of that I am running it in my stock airbox right now........
I will have to look into that.

The MAF contamination is supposedly attributed to oiled filters. If you just have a dry K&N there are no worries.
