Thought I'd start a new thread on this.
Just wondering if one of the signs of a failing final stage resistor is the fan not shutting off when the car is shut down. my HVAC control panel completely shut off, but the fan did not....First time that has happened. I turned the key back to the on position, then turned it off and the fan shut down as normal.....

Definitely a symptom. I'd get it switched out sooner than later.
