    Steering Wheel 'M' Emblem

Not sure if this is even the correct forum to ask this, and I have searched all over, but...

Does anyone have a source for the small 'M' emblem that's on the M3 and ZHP steering wheels? Looking on realoem it doesn't appear they're available separately from the bottom trim piece, which is frustrating as hell. As usual, BMW wants too much money for that simple piece of plastic.

I recently picked up a ZHP wheel, and am going to be refinishing the lower section because of a few nicks and marks, and figured now was a good time to replace the emblem. It looks like the ones that go on the rims may work in a pinch, but those have more rounded corners, IIRC.

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

They're the same ones that are used on the wheels. You can buy them on ecstuning. I had I buy one for my wheels last year. They're like $7

I'm surprised to hear you say they're the same. The one that I've managed to pry out of my steering wheel is hard plastic, while the ones I've purchased for my wheels are a softer material that have really rounded corners.

Then again I am a bit OCD...

it's probably baked hard from the sun and being inside the car, it was probably soft when new. Also, they could have change the material they make it with

Checked with my parts guru, Mike Kent at the BMW Store in OH. Best source for das genuine parts und so weiter, if you ask me...

Actual ///M piece from the steering wheel is not available separately, and yes most people just use the (alloy) wheel emblems.

Honestly I'm surprised BMW doesn't sell this on its own. Lord knows they manage to find a way to sell every other little bit and bauble at top dollar...
