What the heck is that? Looks like a belt....but doesn't make sense if you were doing VANOS/plugs/oil...

Yeah, belt decided to shred itself luckily just as I got to my cousins house. I didn't even start on anything yet. Having it towed to the dealer (maybe 2 minutes away). I'll let my other cousin (BMW tech) figure out what else is wrong

If you were going to do vanos....why not just pick up a conti belt at autozone or something?

I don't have time to do it anymore. I gotta be somewhere in a few hours and this screwed up my plans today. I'll just let my cousin deal with this issue and let me know what else he sees that I need to do. Maybe I'll have him fix my headlight issue also
