I'm guessing radiators are good for 100k miles or more in the E46, but one of those things you might as well change while you're doing a cooling system overhaul. I'm just used to my father's radiator failing in his 540i like clockwork so I did mine at 50k due to age.
I replaced the cooling system minus the radiator about 15k miles ago... Didn't opt to change the radiator back then... now that the temperatures are starting to go up, im sure il drive close to 15000 miles before the end of the year, so was trying to understand what others are doing... I could replace it for peace of mind but I don't want to replace it too early if I don't need to...

You should. The upper neck on the radiator is made of plastic. I've pulled over to help someone on the side of the road who had a pinhole in that plastic. Don't be that guy.

Seems like a much less common failure on the E46 compared to the E39. I know of people with 200k+ on their stock radiators

Ultimately, is it really worth the risk on a $140 part? A bad radiator will leave you stranded. It's a no brainer to me.

For the CT people here, do you know a good PDR place/guy?

I don't think that the Physicians' Desk Reference is balkanized to specific states...

But, if you mean Paintless Dent Removal, I would be interested as well.

Nope. With 241k miles, I stopped caring.
