haha! I did - through a text today. Told him I got a lot done .... I came clean, told him I didn't do a lick of work this afternoon. But I'll make up the time next week preparing for quarter end close.

Now to get that alternator back on.

    Finished up today.

So this weekend and last I got the following done. Currently at 139,000 miles

    Oil and filter change
    Spark plug change
    Valve cover gasket
    VANOS
    VANOS oil line/bolts/washers
    Oil filter housing gasket
    Oil filter housing bolts
    Engine oil temp sensor

Cleaned and scraped lots of gunk off the bottom, side, and everywhere else I could reach.

I didn't get to changing the transmission fluid, of rear diff oil. I needed to have the car back - so I ran out of time.
    So still to come.

Shark tune (already purchase - just need a battery charger
    Transmission oil
    Rear diff oil
    Wheels spacers (need longer studs)

I did run into a couple of problems - the most recent, I replaced the ignition coils with Bosch coils from FCP Euro. Upon of start up I got a misfire, I drove around the block and received three pending misfires.
Swapped back to the OE coils and everything was back to normal. Managed to swap them without removing the cowl!

No idea. I've read mixed reviews about aftermarket ignition coils - this just seems to be another case where my engine won't play well with aftermarket.

In full disclosure-I bought these for the X5, just traded it before getting around to installing them. FCP Euro Said they are the same part number for the E46 as they are for the E70.

I wasn't having any issues with the original ignition coils, just a part change of opportunity.

    Thank you.

If by feels great, you mean my back hurts and knees are wobbly - then yes, it feels great!

Really though - feeling that silky smooth engine rev all the way to 6,800 RPMs with ZERO hesitation, that felt fantastic!

That's why I've mostly given up on Bosch stuff and choose Bremi.

I'm right there with you. I've given up on Bosch products for auto parts.

Oh no! I just purchased a Bosch fuel pump. It was $139 vs $300 for Genuine BMW. Should I be concerned?
