I did the install of the gen 3 headers today. Wow, what a pain in the ass.
I removed my ebay headers and installed the gen 3's in their place.
The ebay headers (super sprint replicas) are a piece of cake to remove, you can get at all the bolts.
I contorted my fingers and hands and arms in ways I never thought possible, but with a great deal of patience, and maybe some luck, I was able install all 16 nuts using the OEM gaskets with the heat shields attached.
naked and ready for fresh new studs:
Installed:
Can you see the nuts? Nope me either. There's 16 of them in there though
I used every single one of these tools, at times fairly creatively:
Overall, despite being awful to install, i'm impressed with the quality of these headers. They seem quite good. They clear the passenger side motor mount way better than the ebay headers did. My only gripe really is that the rear bank O2 sensor location is a bit too far back for the O2 sensor wiring harness to reach its stock location:
But its not going to hurt anything being tucked in there under the engine cover.
For anyone taking on this install, best of luck to you! Take your time, be very patient, and don't try to get the job done within a certain time frame. Just keep moving one step, one nut at a time.
I spent about 7 hours on this project.

I found that a 10mm fine tooth ratcheting combination wrench was the best tool for the job especially the front header. I also used the OEM gaskets with the heat shields
