Passenger Seat Occupancy Sensor Replacement (NOT Bypass)

My passenger seat occupancy sensory has given out for the second time in less than three years. Last time I had it replaced by an upholstery shop but since it looks like this is definitely going to be a regular thing I was hoping to take care of it myself this time and in the future. Has anyone done a DIY on this? Everything I find on various forums and Google searches on the topic leads to DIYs on how to bypass. If anyone has any tips I'd appreciate it and will gladly post a DIY (if no one knows of one that already exists) if I end up tackling this. Thanks!

EDIT: Here's a link to my DIY. http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showt...693#post433693

I have a bypass switch that I bought new but didn't need. I know you don't want bypass, but if somebody does, I'll sell mine.

Do you remember how much you paid to the upholstery place ? I may need to consider that for the Mini Cooper.

Dealing with the hog rings from what I hear is a real PITA. It's not for the faint of heart.

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

I don't recall the exact price. I wanna say $125 plus the sensor that I bought. I could be thinking of something else though. Probably money well spent but I'd rather learn how to do it since I intend to own this car for the foreseeable future and will probably have to replace the sensor three or four more times.

I had mine go out on my gray ZHP and Dane luckily had a new sensor pad I bought for replacement. My indy tech buddy replaced it in under an hour
