Neither my dad nor I got one. Our best guess is they've given up on services for e46s since they're so old now.

I got an inspection saying my waterpump was leaking heavily. Of course, it was not leaking a drop lol..

They did catch that my thermostat had a very very minor leak. Overall it was fine, I didn't assume the thermostat was leaking because it was a new Wahler unit, oh well.

    New BMW airbag inflator recall

Total recall has been expanded to 30+ million vehicles. Crazy.

That would be nice. According to the LA Times, the Takata recall covers the following BMW models:

BMW AG: Adds about 280,000 vehicles in U.S. including:

    - 2002-2005 325i/325xi/330i/330xi
    - 2002-2005 325xi/325i Sports Wagon
    - 2002-2006 330Ci/325Ci/M3 Convertible
    - 2002-2006 325i/330i/M3 Coupe
    - 2002-2003 M5/540i/525i/530i
    - 2002-2003 540i/525i Sports Wagon
    - 2003-2004 X5 3.0i/4.4i Sports Activity Vehicle.

U.S. total in recall is nearly 421,000.

So was at the dealer yesterday trying to figure out where my drivers airbag was as I was part of the SFL early recall. Learned that BMW cancelled the original driver's program and is reissuing a broader drivers recall. He showed me the internal bulletin and it said we would receive a formal notice. So at this point looks like they hit the reset button.

FWIW he also indicated that as far as he knew there were no incidents where a person was injured in a BMW due to injuries from an exploding initiator. He had only heard of Honda related injuries. Either way something tells me this is going to take awhile.

Had mine done last week after multiple attempts several months back to replace it. Randomly thought to call and they said we have them in stock and asked when I wanted to bring it in. Showed up later that day and dropped it off. Went and grabbed lunch with a friend and it was ready before we got done.

They washed it (not sure how happy I am about that) and vacuumed the all weather mats out for me as well as sprayed on some tire shine to get slung all over the car as I drove down the road lol. I promptly wiped off the sidewalls before pulling out of the parking lot.

Overall I was pretty pleased with my experience considering their reputation in the past.
