Yellow DSC & "Brake" lights illuminated

I'm sure there's a thread out there for this, but I can't find it... I've been having intermittent issues with the DSC & "Brake" lights coming on together in yellow, pic below. I googled it and came up with tons of forum pages, with everyone giving their own opinion of what they think it might be. The most common (and most realistic) fix seemed to be the DSC Pressure sensor (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...r/34521164458/). Has anyone gone through this, and how did you fix it? This doesn't affect the drivability of the vehicle at all, just a small beep when it comes on. No, I haven't taken it to my local shop to get the codes ran yet, I don't have any time to do that right now. Thanks

Had a similar issue on the wife's car in the past. At first it was intermittent but then it became pretty constant

I scanned the car and it had a code for the brake pressure sensor 1 ( there are two of them ) Ended up buying the sensor and installing it ( kinda pita ) and then a brake bleed since the sensors sit right on the master cylinder.

Other people had luck with just cleaning the wheel speed sensors or doing a brake fluid flush so there is new fluid in the system. I tried those methods but replacing the sensor was the fix for me. ( Only did 1 sensor since they are not cheap but if a shop was doing it, I would have replaced both )

Keep in mind when the dsc system is disabled when both lights are on the cluster. So the system is inactive.

Hey Vas, I think one of the old forum posts I read on E46Fans was yours haha. But yeah, adding brake fluid and wheel speed sensors were the other popular vote getters. I really don't feel like spending $90 at a shop for them to plug it in, so I'll start small with a fluid check and go from there. I wondered if the DSC would be disabled, and that makes sense because I had a pretty solid bark in 2nd gear this weekend while getting after it

I think I had the same light combination. The mechanic replaced the steering wheel angle sensor. Before that they cleared the light, but it returned. For me, I think the lights were constant from the beginning or became constant pretty quickly.

Mine does this for the wheel speed sensors. They become dirty over time and throw the code. If you wash the car and make sure to spray some water toward the inside of the wheels it'll go off!

Yes the DSC does turn off! I tested it by launching the car one day! Haha

you reeeeally need to scan it. it could be a variety of sensors. steering angle sensor, wheel speed sensor (aka ABS sensor), lateral acceleration sensor....

scan it. then let us know what it says.

That seems a bit sensitive! I've never had this issue on my previous cars and I wash the crap out of my car at least once a week. But, you never know

I know... I just have zero time during the week, and running to the shop is a hassle.

The lights are off today, so who knows what's up. I'm going to check the brake fluid and wheel sensors this weekend, see how that goes and go from there

Funny we had the same issue near the same time. I did not see this post. I will clean mine and see how that worked.
