Finally got my hands dirty for once and did something myself: replaced the air filter in the intake.
$55 for the OEM air filter.
Plus, washed the wheels, washed everything, wiped down the insides of the windows with Invisible Glass, and Rain-X'd all the glass except for the moonroof.
Then used some kind of Meguiar's blemish/scratch/paint correction on the hood and trunk. Then waxed.
Ready for the local MFEST meet tonight.

Also, found a ZHP group on Facebook but I don't recognize anyone. The guy who started it though, name's Chris and said that was his username here on the site.
Anyone know him? I've never seen a "Chris" post anywhere here in the couple months I've been on here...

    Doesn't sound familiar. Inactive?
By now I can either recite the top 20 posters and even some (real) names but I don't remember him.

EDIT: Nope, said it's just Chris.
    Meh

I don't know if I've ever mentioned this.....but your username is either universal or you're everywhere.
I've played games like Day of Defeat: Source, Modern Warfare 1&2, etc. and there's always a das boots around once in a while.

LOL. Thanks for the compliment...but...not me. I'm way too old or should I say advance stage. A few years short of retirement age. My reactions are not as what they used to be.....had even to give up on driving competition. Just be an instructor. And even that, is beginning to kick my butt.....LOL. But seriously, I have been using my call sign when I was given that since 1988 when I was still active Navy and also started joining BMW club sites.

I started my car with both of the belts un attached, as I suspecting the noise of dying cats went away. That means my alternator is KAPUT..

About one hour in of pulling out the alternator.. I literally just need to unbolt and disconnect it at this point. I'll wait until the new one is here.

I am going with a 120A Bosch reman from authausaz for $193..

    Here are some obligatory pictures..

I did not trust driving the E46 today (I knew it would break down), so I took my dad's E39. I backed it in on campus today, and it looks like a few other people copied me

P.s ~ That brown Lexus is a 1992 w/ only 52k original miles!! Been owned since new by the same family too! It's a very comfy car to ride in, a great highway cruiser.

The 1985? Landcruiser is pretty mint too
    The 325i is a SULEV

And the E39 is my dad's

Yes, hokiezhp is Chris, but he would have invited us to his FB group (or we'd kick his ass), so it couldn't be him, right?

Dying to know who it is.
