Yeah. The only issue is that since owning the e30 I've been completely anal about making sure the air filters are installed properly since this exact thing is so easy to do.
I also noted three of the six(ish) clips holding the airbox together weren't fastened.
I'm normally not THAT careless.
Only thing I can think is the guy that did the state inspection on my car in May looked in there to check out the filter. Sound like a stretch?

Now that I'm running with the K&N I've got two stock MANN filters just sitting all lonely on the shelf... If needed I'll be able to use them while I recharge the K&N...
