    Steering rack change - 32 13 6 757 651 or 32 13 6 755 065

    Guys,
got some leakage on my steering rack.
Now plan to order a "new" one but don't know which PN to choose.
    VIN: KM38539 gives me 32 13 6 757 651, which costs around 875 $ and 6 weeks for delivery.
As the alternative some mechanics say that 32 13 6 755 065 also fits and no difference in steering at all. The cost is 715 $ and available in stock.

    Should I go for 32 13 6 755 065 or wait 6 weeks and pay more to get 32 13 6 757 651?

I'd go with 32 13 6 755 065. It looks to be a bit more specific to the 330 and it's in stock for less. And that is a really good price, too. Everything I saw for it was over $1,000 with a $200 core charge.

I would contact BMW of Silver Springs (Tischer) and see which part they recommend. They have always been spot on whenever I called them with a VIN/Serial #.

I'm in Russia, so I can't call them unfortunately...
BMW ETK says that the correct rack is 32 13 6 757 651 which is installed on 330s after 9/2001.
    32 13 6 755 065 was installed on 330s before 09/2001, nowadays it's installed on all other e46 318/318/320/325.

    Can someone check it?

My apologies, I didn't notice your location.

Actually, I just checked and remembered they go by email only. They do not have a phone number.
It's a form you fill out on their website, here: http://getbmwparts.com/contact_form.html

They will respond to you in an email with the correct part number if you provide them your VIN#; even if you don't order from them you could at least get the right part #.

Can anyone comment on the difference in Lock to Lock between the two racks?
