Another Canon shooter here:
Canon 5DII

70-200 2.8 II
580EXII Flash
That's what I ended up with after buying and selling several bodies and a ridiculous number of lenses on eBay.

Scott, thanks for adding that information about favorite camera forums.
I visit two sites quite a bit. They're both Nikon-centric.
http://froknowsphoto.com/
Jared Polin, who lives in PA (about 10 miles west of Trenton, NJ), is an accomplished photographer who operates a very educational and entertaining site.
http://mansurovs.com/
This is an excellent site for photographs, gear review, and education. The site is run by Lola and Nasim Mansurov. It has a very clean layout and it's a joy to navigate.
I'm a member on both FredMiranda.com and Photography-on-the.net (Canon forums).
Also a friend tried starting his own site www.autophotog.com
it didn't pick up much steam though and he got busy.

Really, too bad the entire site didn't work out. It's the kind of site I would have visited.
I think if a few more dedicated pros had been part of the launch it could have been more successful.
