Hey guys, I just picked up my first ZHP this past weekend. I'm thrilled to join the family!

I'm coming from a 2002 Acura RSX Type-S that I had lightly modded. I just had my first child in December and quickly realized the two door approach had to go. With only 80,000 miles it was a quick sale and I got more cash for it than I expected. So of course that quickly started burning a hole in my pocket and I had to kick up the search for my next ride. My wife has a 528iT so I knew I liked the BMW ride but I was hoping for something a bit sportier. I figured I'd get a cheap 3 series and do some mods. I work in marketing/advertising so it's my job to influence people to buy, yet I cannot imagine buying a new car and even with used cars I like to bargain hunt.

But then I found the ZHP via another forum and it just seemed to call to me. After several days of phone conversations, reviewing all of the car's documents, talking to shops that had done maintenance on it, and doing my own homework on the model (a lot of great info here!) I took a chance by going up to NYC to check it out.

I arrived to snow flurries in downtown New York and took the train out to Long Island where the owner met me at the station. Of course he was a BMW gearhead and totally nice guy. Although it was completely freezing out we walked through the ins and outs of his vehicle for over an hour, all parts covered and explained. The nice thing was that he and his dad had done a lot of the maintenance work themselves so they felt that it was important the car go to another enthusiast. So after a short test drive we came to an agreement and signed the papers while enjoying some New York cheesecake. I took off from the city at 6:00 pm. and was back in Richmond by the stroke of midnight. What a fun drive! Definitely the most fun I've had on I95.

It has a Kenwood nav unit so I enjoyed playing with all of the options on the drive, like Bluetooth calling, iPhone integration and satellite radio. I don't think I'll keep the satellite radio but listening to some Russian teckno was fun for a few minutes

The previous owner swapped the M wheel for a sport wheel when the Alcantara became worn. My first order of business is swapping it for a leather M wheel. I also need to do the passenger seat airbag sensor bypass. I'm debating whether to do that Seafoam cleaner and oil change. All fluids were recently changed anyway. Otherwise I'll just enjoy driving it for a while before I get any crazy ideas about mods.

    Here she is
