    Floppy gas flap

All of a sudden my gas flap decided it doesn't want to stay shut. Just kinda flops around. (I'll take a video in a bit.) it's kinda like the spring isn't pushing it against the car hard enough.

I'm considering trying some magnets and 3M like tape to fix it, but wanted to see first if anyone else has had this problem.

I'm going to try some WD-40 on the spring/hinge and I'll report back.

Update: A spritz of WD-40 did the trick! Closes like a champ again.

Very. Never would have guessed that would have been the problem. The spring/clip thing is painted though, and I think maybe after wearing through the paint it lost some spring.

Mine does this occasionally. As if it doesn't magnet. So where was the WD-40 applied?

There actually isn't a magnet involved... I always thought there was... But yeah, the wd-40 just gets spayed on the hinge.
