So why would one get the brass ones?

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

less caliper 'flex'. for a street car, as seth mentioned above with the constant attention and shudder, likely not a good choice.

Yeah they're a bit more solid for high speed braking on track. That's what I was ultimately building this car for but now seeing it's pointless as I would want bbk anyway. Was hoping to avoid spending that kind of money at first but you really pay for what you get. That being said if you keep up with them (and have a solid steering rack) it's a nice cheap brake upgrade.

    GAWD DAMNIT

Tire wasn't beaded correctly, went flat on me going 70 on lake shore drive and blew a chunk of the inner lip out so now I'm being told I need a new tire (wouldn't reinflate).

So my options are find a needle in a haystack 225/45/18 Blizzak to replace it - nobody has anything in stock or even a few days out in anything other than a WS80 and I run LM25s - older version. Or I can try to find someone with a new Dunlop or something else but does that mean I should get 2 or just run 1 mismatched?

Garage is just a year old.... the 135s on the car and the spares and are pretty dead in both cases are performance summer tires. The stars have the winter set.... 17s.

    Ugh...

If you do replace with a different brand or model, definitely do it in pairs. You don't want different traction on one wheel versus the other.

oh man, what a day. I am out running errands and getting to know my new town. I am on my way to Home Depot and I just happen to come upon a AAA office. I decide to go in to update the address on my 15+ year AAA membership. The office is super nice, and everyone inside is incredibly friendly and helpful.

One woman changes my address for my membership, then asks if I want to update the address for my registration. Oh yeah, they do that, so I don't have to go to the DMV, thank goodness. Oh and your registration is up in January? No problem, we can take care of that right now too. No no, doesn't matter if you do not have the slip. Oh, you need a smog too? Well then, we have a smog station around back and we can do that and give you your tags today as well.

My god, I love AAA. I went from changing the addy on my AAA membership to that, updating the address on my car registration and drivers license, renewing my registration, smogging my car, and finally getting my tags. The smog guy even said "beautiful car. These are great cars." They didn't need to put it on the dyno either. He just plugged it in and looked under the hood quickly before gingerly putting it back down (hopefully admiring my M3 strut bar and BMW Perf intake), and that was it. 5 minutes. And yes it passed. If anyone is considering a AAA membership, this was totally worth it. They have a first rate operation and avoids the DMV.

This is kind of ZHP related, but I just joined Costco today too. Love it and yes I spent a decent amount (but saved money too!). I noticed they also sell gas. I asked the nice lady processing my membership if it was Top Tier and she said honestly she didn't know. Any thoughts on if their gas is good enough for our wonderful rides?

What did you do for your ZHP/ BMW / MINI today? #2

Awesome about AAA. Wish my local place was that good. They're only open m-f 10-4 or something stupid.

Never heard good things about Costco gas.
