Well. That miniature Exxon-Valdez just sapped up all of the time that I was going to spend on other projects tonight. Nothing else was damaged, but every little parts bag had oil in it. Lots of paper towels and dish soap later, we're good.

So it's pretty funny: they packaged everything loose because there wasn't anything big and sharp that would bust a bottle of oil, right? But they forgot how ridiculously sharp the point is on the seatbelt buttons that were in the order.

That right there is a squeaky clean puncture wound.

I cleaned the area around the wound, dabbed some glue on the hole, and covered with tape.

Everything looks to be ok now. I even made a drip pad for the little guy.

Just glad I don't need a full 2 quarts for the diff.

Wow, that's bad. I never got such a bad experience with car parts delivery, especially for the fluids.

The worst I had was an order of BMW wheel cleaner that came in a box filled with sand. It was such a mess when I opened it. Sand went everywhere and was all in the pump trigger mechanism. I called to complain and they told me it was a USPS requirement... well I've never had anyone else do that and they could have at least put the spray bottles in a separate bag...

Needless to say I have never ordered from them again.

That is the worst packing idea I've ever heard. Fill the package with sand on the off chance that the spray bottle will break and needs to be absorbed, all the while making the package weigh as much as a...bag of sand?

I've had some fluids leaked, but nothing too bad. It wasn't oil. The sand idea is just mind blowing.

The used AFE intake I got on ebay came packaged in loose packing peanuts, which doesn't seem like the best of ideas.
