ALL used car prices are up this year as new car production is decreased/limited by the lack of chips. Our county even raised the value of our cars so we're paying more in personal property taxes!

I feel lucky then! I am not required to pay any personal property tax on my Audi, M3 or ZHP because they have exceeded the 15 year mark when I am no longer required to pay. In 2023 my Porsche will drop off the tax list and then I won't have to pay any property tax regarding my cars

That's cool, we pay tax on "value" and after my kid totalled a beautiful black 6MT sedan a couple years ago (paid $11k, insurance paid $5800), I found the difference between insurance value, and willingness to pay. It tempers my willingness to pay $24k for a nice looking sedan, even with "only" 75k miles...

    Appreciate all the perspectives.

Yeah it sucks, especially for higher mileage cars like mine (343k km), I have had 2 accidents, both times insurance wanted to total my car but I fought and got them to fix it. The only way to ensure you won't get a low evaluation is to get an agreed-value policy
