Yes! There are butterflies in there controlled by a Bluetooth remote. The exhaust system has to be programmed into the cars' Bluetooth system. It's pretty slick
The solenoids are under the purple and black foam
Those are the bare tips. Either titanium or CF tips are available

Yes, it is... with her employee discount, she got ii at about 1/2 off the list price but it was still stupid expensive

Ha! I've only driven it once so far and that was on the last leg of the drive back from the performance center... it's ok though. It's her car and she's having fun... I can wait.... until it's broken in :)

Kristen got the performance exhaust installed and programmed Friday but the tips didn't come until Saturday morning so we stopped by at the dealership on our way to cars and coffee

You can see in this pic that the bare tips are just common 409 stainless piping. It would look like crap without the separate tips

The finished product, she also had them install the CF diffuser. This was actually an EBay item. It's different than the BMW performance version but was 1/3 the cost. It's all CF no overlay. The quality is quite good.

This is the stock diffuser. We were a little disappointed in the quality of this piece. It's just matte plastic. Looks a little cheap to us which is why we had a CF piece ready to go on.

I took a couple shots of the rear when we had it in the air at the dealer. As you can see, it has a 4 link suspension and lots of aluminum parts
It has a huge finned diff cover that comes off from the bottom instead of the traditional rear cover.
The rear shocks are huge.

Impressive. When my family had a house in Wilmington (about 1/4 mile straight line from the ICW, and 3/4 mile to the Atlantic on the other side of Wrightsville) everything was rusted from the salty air. Grill we kept in the garage? Rusted. Patio furniture? Rusted. We scrapped so much stuff when the house was sold.

We're about a mile or so from the ICW but it's pretty far up the Stono River. Downtown Charleston and harbor is about seven miles away and Folly beach is about 17 miles away

Before Kristen went into the hospital we got a few things done on the car.
Sometimes it's the little things that make for a cleaner package that's more pleasing to the eye... First on the list is the rear of the car.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180627/3cb2d701b8327ea67a35b6d06c2f870b.jpg
What's wrong with this picture you may ask... It's those stupid reflectors that the U.S. Requires.
We could paint them but then they would look like painted reflectors. Looking at the bumper, it looks like they are supposed to be fake venting. I found these on IND's website. They were stupid expensive but to me, they are the only option to make it look right.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180627/69378745c69706894c254f5866e59e46.jpg

It's a little unnerving taking apart a car with a few hundred miles on it but it all went well.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180627/8cf73bcea88e91cd5e3b3552cde29f79.jpg
Next are the side emblems. The factory emblems are just dull plastic. We don't get why they would do that when the mirror bases, etc are all gloss black. They had to go. Kristen chose gloss black backing with black chrome trim. I think they look 100% better!
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180627/1e76b38dcac1e40852288d0c2b53285c.jpg
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180627/ea04e4990be9c6f2330c232b3f6744d1.jpg
Lastly are the BMW performance splitters. These are replicas but the quality is really good and all the mounting points are spot on. I had to drill two holes per side but the other three holes use factory mounting points
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180627/223f9727dd837910a9aa4e848262ce33.jpg

They look good but I can't really think of any aerodynamic purpose for them.
That's about it for exterior mods. We're going to eventually get the performance CF trunk spoiler but we've spent enough for now :)

A brief history for you...
Kristen is her name. She originally had a 2004 325, her first BMW. Then she got the low milage 135 from a friend in Ohio. It was already pretty heavily modded and she built it into a beast. We met on Bimmerforums and we both joined ZHP mafia soon after it's inception. Moved in together shortly after that and got married in in spring of 2013 and the twins were born that August. We been to every Mafia meet except for the one in Tenn. Logistics weren't right that year as our families were in Ohio, NJ and SC at that time and we try to coordinate that into the meets. She stopped posting soon after we had the twins...too much for her but she is a regular on Facebook. I keep her up to date on all the happenings here.
She is a serious gear head and a former Honda girl. She restored and turbo'd her Honda Prelude from scratch using a Garret turbo out of a junkyard Volvo, custom tune, etc. and she has several car show trophies for her effort. She's done engine and suspension swaps and all that JDM stuff import people do.
She worked at the Honda plant in Ohio and she was a Honda tech for a few years before switching to parts manger at her Honda dealership. When she moved to NJ, she joined a startup Mitsubishi dealer as the parts and service director. She started both departments from scratch. When she started, there was no parts dept., service bays were full of trash, old toilets, etc. She bought shop equipment, got proper state licensing and hired techs and a parts guy. The dealership became one of the most successful dealerships in the country. She left after the GM wanted her to start doing some shady stuff.
She went to Penske after that as a service adviser at BMW. When they realized she was wasting her talent in that position, they moved her to parts manager at Acura next door to BMW. She did so well in that position, Roger Penske himself sought her out and shook her hand saying that she had the cleanest parts department of any of his dealerships, which is pretty impressive considering he has over 400 dealerships throughout the world. When we visited Charleston a few years ago, we stopped by the BMW dealership and she introduced herself and told them she was looking to relocate. A few months later they offered her a job and here we are.
As you can see, I'm very proud of her. She has tremendous talent and is a very kind person, willing to help in any way she can. She is fun and lighthearted... compliments my stodgy old ass perfectly!
Hopefully, you will get a chance to meet her at one of the future meets.

Yesterday she went for a joy ride in the golf cart and ran out of gas a couple of neighborhoods away and and to call someone to rescue her... she's a trip!
Less that 200 miles to go and it's broken in!
Matt at Charleston Performance Center told me he'd do a base dyno run on her car for free. He's going to put a video on his website. He said her car will generate about 20% spike in business... sounds good to me!

Car is fully broken in. Interestingly, there seems to be a setting for break-in called "run-in check" that they reset when they do the 1200 mile service. All fluids changed too. I didn't get much of a chance to really lay into it but the car feels really strong.
There are a lot of interesting features on this M2 that I want to share but no time right now. Some of these features are definitely race car. Very cool!

Well, we have found two really annoying things that really affect the enjoyment of the car:
First is the shifter. It's too tall and very vague, especially between 3rd and 5th. We keep feeling like we're going to money shift it. Part of the problem is we have UUC short shifters in the ZHP and 135. People that never had a short shifter may not notice an issue at all. It already has the ZHP shift knob from the factory.
Second and this is the big one, the auto rev matching is the most annoying thing about this car! We hate it and from what we've been reading on the internet, so does everyone else. Why would we hate such a cool feature? Well if you don't shift and drive they way it expects then it does stupid things. The way it works is there is a sensor somewhere between the shifter and transmission that senses when your entering the gate of the next upshift or downshift and then adjusts the rpm accordingly. In a perfect world, this would be great but we all have our habits with the manual and this interferes tremendously. For example, if rolling up to a stop light or stop sign, I have a tendency to put it in first before I come to a complete stop so the car tries to rev match and makes me look like an idiot. Getting back to the shifter, if I miss a shift, say, bounce it off third when I'm trying for fifth, even though I've barely touched the gate before realizing that it's third, the car will try to re match and the rpms go to the moon. Also, it's inconsistent. There are times when it doesn't rev match at all when you're expecting it. Also, it has this annoying feature where it revs up to around 1000 rpms when letting the clutch out to assist non drivers starting out. Why do we need this dumbed down technology? This isn't why people buy this car with a manual!
Putting it in sport+ helps a little but why the hell didn't they provide an off switch? Anyone that buys this car with a manual transmission doesn't want to be coddled for every shift or every start from a dead stop. If you completely turn off DSC, it disables it but who wants to drive around with DSC off all the time?
To be honest, if we knew that this feature was going to be so shitty, we would of gotten the DCT. We're looking into having it coded out but it looks like that disables some other features too. More research is needed.
On a higher note, with the DSC completely off, this car is amazing! Sports+ mode doesn't turn enough off.
Did I mention that it chops the ignition between shifts? Instant RPM drop and it sounds like a friggin full blown race car!
The rev matching is awesome for spirited driving and on the track but for gods sake, put an off switch for every day driving like Porsche did

Rob that does sound frustrating. I'll bet a tuner out there will have a solution in the near future though. Just gotta give it a little time for these cars to get fleshed out. I had no idea about the RPM drops in DCS off mode, that actually sounds really awesome. Throw in a nice SSK and hopefully that will make things a lot more enjoyable. Sucks that BMW didn't already plan for this kind of stuff. No one likes removing brand new parts on a brand new car.

It’s funny you mentioned the Porsche auto-blip. My neighbor was telling me how he was riding with a student in a 991.1 last fall and thought “my god, for a novice this guy can heel-toe like an absolute boss!” Turns out it was the auto-blip, and when he turned it off the guy actually had terrible footwork. It’s probably great for some people, but as you mentioned, typically the kind of person opting for a 6MT instead of DCT in an M2 probably doesn’t need it.
Surely someone has/will figure out how to disable it in the M2 without disabling a bunch of other things.

An article I was reading said that the 6 speed manual is for the US market because they're the only ones that want it. Sales numbers back that up as the DCT has more sales. It further stated that BMW is all about technology and the don't even want to put any manual gearboxes in any more, and I have to agree, The DCT is superior to the manual gearbox... doesn't mean that I really want one though.

That's crappy. They should have allowed some customization through a menu. smh

Supposedly the coding to remove it is to disable the clutch switch. I think this also disables hill assist and requires two presses of the start button to start vs one. I don't think everyone has figured out what else it disables. There is no line that suggests disabling rev match and it being disabled is more of a side effect of other features disabled.
Super bummer! I'm semi-happy that my fiance got the DCT (she got it mainly cause she sits in traffic during her commute) and its a hell of a transmisison.

The clutch switch is overrated anyway. :)
Anyone who knows how to drive a manual knows that you have to press the clutch in to start the car anyway, so the switch isn't even necessary.

The fist time I drove the 135 I got in it and couldn't figure out how to start it. The only other push to start car I had driven was my mom's 128i and you have to put the key in and press the brake before pushing the start button. I forgot about the whole "clutch" aspect of the 135 and had to run over to Rob and ask what to do

Installed the UUC short shifter. It's definitely an improvement. Shifts are more precise and the vagueness is gone. Installation is basically the same as it is for the e46.
My God! It is so much easier with a lift and a brand new car! It took me 6 hrs to install the shifter in my car due to rusty, frozen parts.
It was fun looking at the bottom of the engine subframe etc without a speck of dirt or oil on it.
The subframe is around 1" aluminum square bar, much bigger than just the crossmember on our cars. Still has the aluminum stiffening pan like our cars. The catalytic converter is huge and the pipe is a good 3". The single cross brace across the trans tunnel is aluminum instead of steel and all suspension components are aluminum. Rear subframe is still steel.
Wish I took more/better pics but I was short on time

The good thing about Charleston is that there is so much to do here, we rarely go out of a 20 mile radius

I can understand a little bit of a loss, but... the difference between the 205k ZHP and my 307k one shouldn't be all that big... but it is. I did a test last night... 90-110km/h in sixth gear, foot to the floor. Mine has the 3.46 LSD in it, while the 205k one has the 3.07. It beat my acceleration by a full second.
MPG differences? I got 35mpg down to work this morning in the 205k ZHP, where mine struggled to get 30 with the 3.07 diff before swapped.
These are huge differences despite the small mileage gap. Time for Piston Rings.......... or a new car. LOL - one can dream.

My car has always dyno'd lower than other ZHPs even when it was lower mileage... don't know why...No two engines are going to have the same output so it's really luck of the draw and wear. I know you've had issues with oil burn so it's almost certainly a case of worn piston rings.
My car had oil burning issues to the point that BMW replaced the engine around 50k miles. The replacement engine has 110k on it now, burns no oil, and is strong as hell.
Bad luck for the first owner, good luck for me.
I think I’m in the same boat as you two. Pretty much every zhp I’ve driven feels faster than mine and pretty much every car beats me off the line at a stop light unless I put my foot down and look like an idiot cause of the corsa exhaust. Replacing the vanos seals helped a bit but not much...

Yea, John.... getting back to that... We really like the new shifter. The throws are much shorter and the gates are precise. No more vagueness. I still think that 3rd and 5th are a little too close together but with the new shifter, it only feels awkward at slow speed, shifting slowly. I think it's something I would get used to if I drove the car all the time.
Installation was almost identical to the e46. The carrier is a different shape but it mounts exactly like the e46 6 speed. A nice thing they did with this is the rear carrier bushing unbolts from the body, making removal much easier. I had to drop the exhaust but it's a single 3" banjo clamp and like I said earlier, everything is brand new... so sweet modding a brand new car. Everything is perfectly clean and comes apart so easily. I can't wait for the performance upgrades... Probably going to be all Dinan stuff so there will be no warranty issues.
The short list for performance mods is: bigger turbo, bigger intercooler, new charge pipe, CAI and a tune. If we go all Dinan, it will be about $5k and add about 100 HP for a total of 470 HP at the crank. That should be close to her 135's output :)

It seems the good people of Charleston have it out to destroy the M2 judging by two incidents last week:
Kristen was trying to leave a parking lot in Mt Pleasant and this girl in a 4Runner was texting and not looking where she was going. She was heading right for a front end collision with the M2. Kristen has to run the car up over a curb to avoid her and destroyed a back wheel in the process . The girl went past her and hit the car behind her and totaled it. Then the girl tried to run before two dudes in pickups blocked her from leaving the scene. Thankfully, due to Kristen’s quick actions, it appears we are just out a wheel and alignment which the girl’s parents are willing to pay for cash. Apparently they’re loaded.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181002/2f82dc1cd2eb1b8a0483ecbbe0cbf655.jpg
Later on in the week some lady road raged out on her and squirted lotion all over the M2. When she ran out of lotion, she started throwing bottles and trash at the car. When Kristen got out of the car to take a picture, the lady put the car in reverse and tried to run over her!
Funniest part though is the lady had a pit bull in the car and was yelling “attack! Get her!” Kris said “ you dog is isn’t going to do anything “ and reached in the car and started petting it. Hahaha!
I think what pissed the lady off so much is that Kristen was really calm and reasonable the whole time.
So when she got to work she called the cops but nothing will probably happen. The cop told her off the record that he’s so sick of being a cop here because all he does are accidents and road rage incidents He also told her she should carry a weapon in the car with her.. the very least have mace in the car...that’s pretty bad when the cops tell you to carry a weapon
I guess we could take her to small claims court. The driver’s side window is going to need a new seal because it’s soaked with lotion and streaks the window when it goes back up...

Same here.... when I saw the car I was saying thank god it was only the wheel.
As a deputy, it’s hard to maintain composure on these types of calls where both parties are on scene. I lay into people sometimes pretty hard when the act is totally egregious and idiotic, this would fall under that.
I also would have cited them for criminal mischief because they caused damage to your car in the form of having to replace the seal.
Asshats, sorry you had to go through that, hopefully it’s all recitifiable.
Thanks for the insight. I hope they charge her with something... she shouldn't just get away with it.

If they don’t charge her you should be able to obtain a copy of the report they took and go to your local county attorney office in an attempt to have a criminal summons issued. This would have to be served to her and then a court date will be set. I would take copies of your vehicle paperwork and the cost to fix with you when you attempt to file the report to prove she caused damage that had to be fixed.

I hate to say it but I think we are at a crossroad with this car. Neither of us are really feeling the love... Can't quite put my finger on it but I think it's because this car has no soul. It's what I would expect from say, a performance Lexus or something. The car is way too computer controlled for a manual transmission. Sure, you can turn DSC completely off to get some control back but then you loose all the feature we like too. The clutch is mush. No feel or feedback at all. The shifting is terrible. Even with the UUC short shifter, we still have trouble finding the gates. Now we know why everyone is buying the DCT... a computer assisted manual isn't fun.
I'm not sure what direction we will go... maybe another X5 and get her out of performance. Or maybe an older touring we can mod. We've talked about a e90 M3...We're even thinking of a diesel. The other thing we could do is fully mod out the M2 and see what its like but IDK if we want to invest the money. Right now, the car holds its maximum value with only 5k on the clock. She got a huge discount on the car so we could still break even...
I know it sounds crazy, we thought we just being too picky but one of her customers has the identical car in white and he complained about the same things and will probably sell his and get a DCT. He only has around 5k on his too...

I feel bad you guys don't enjoy the M2 as much as you wanted. I don't think modding the M2 any more would be the smartest choice. Kinda like having kids to "save" the marriage. Spending a lot of money on something is stressful (at least to me) especially if you don't know if it will make you any happier.
E90 M3 would be a really cool ride. Got a couple guys here that have gone that route so I'm sure you would be in good company. Not to mention going back a generation of car would be less computer assisted and the M3 is straight motor with no turbo lag. Supercharger kits for this car are also really nice.
N54's are holding their value and you already know how insanely fun they can be when done right. Even the N55 guys are making big power with a few simple mods.
The only thing that comes to mind when I think RWD, big power and loud is a mustang. Just spit balling here.

I know it's sounds weird and believe me, it was really hard to come to this conclusion. It doesn't help that the 135 has about 100 more HP at the rear wheels, which we know could be easily fixed for about $5K and not void the warranty... but more HP won't take care of the computer control issue... I probably should do some more research on coding... I wish I had the time. I can't even get my own car done.
I was a Ford guy before I got into Bimmers so a Chevy isn't in the cards and Kristen had a few bad experiences with Mustangs so we're going to stick with BMW.. especially since she works at the dealership where labor is $30 per hr .
I'm leaning towards an e90 M3... the V8 in the e53 was amazing and I've been lusting for a V8 forever :)

I drove another friend's 1M today as well...the 135 blew it away. You'd have to a good bit of the same mods to make that thing fun and then it ruins the parts bin "artificial classic" factor. It looks awesome though. Big fat ass.

FINALLY got to drive the same friend's E36 M3 as well. Very fun. The common statement that it's a "more raw" ZHP I fully agree with. A little lighter on it's feet.
I'm still really happy with the E92 M3 so far. Drove them all pretty much back to back today and it's really refined compared to the 135 and 1M, but yet still moves. And of course, has the modern fit/finish compared to the E36. But really...my happiness boils down to one thing...a V8 is a V8.

We're still trying to figure out what direction to go in... Now were talking about keeping it as a garage queen and getting a "beater" for the daily commute.
One thing that is frustrating living here in Charleston and driving performance cars is the congestion is so bad and the drivers are so unpredictable that is just isn't fun driving this kind of car. Kristen works 8 miles from home and it takes her a good 1/2 hr to get to work.
I would love to get rid of the car payment even though it's not that much but I want her to be happy, we'll figure it out eventually...

Rob I completely understand the traffic issues. DC isn't much better and the drivers are probably just as bad. I'm planning on getting a beater to drive around to and from work and especially during the winter. Changing jobs soon and the new one requires more traveling. My commute right now is 10 miles each way to work which I'm fine with, but the new job will be a lot more. Really don't want to rack up miles on the 135. I will never get tired of gapping the shit out of other people in traffic when I can though lmaoo

Atlanta traffic probably has both of you guys beat. Which makes having a performance car even more necessary to weave in-n-out of people that are just in the way.

i have to say, i was concerned about this when i test drove E90 335's... and while i felt the xDrive cars were a little 'meh' feeling, the RWD 6MT 335i is about as close to 'modern' as i would want, while still having some character. it definitely doesn't have 'soul' like the E46.... especially my Touring. that thing is just pure raw goodness (and i'm going to miss the crap out of it........). but it has fantastic steering, good handling, great brakes, and it does goad you into driving a bit..... umm.... irresponsibly. ;)

This all requires E-Sys. You'll need an E-NET cable and E-Sys to do the coding. I would love to test it for you as I have the software but I don't have a newer car to do it on. :(

Ok, I just read through the whole thing... Thanks SO much for finding this BP!!!! We're definitely going to give this a try!
This post from GT6 Racer in that thread pretty much sums up how we feel now and hopefully, we'll like the results as much as he does. We really don't want to sell the car.
Thanks for the post guys. I got my 2018 car back in March, and have been giving the revmatch a shot to see if it gets better with time. It doesn’t. I know some like it, but I hate it - to the point I was considering selling the car. The technology isn’t a bad idea, but the execution is not there. It’s not smart enough to understand how fast I am going to change gears, and release the clutch. It’s too aggressive for around town and too slow for really spirited use. I find myself having to time my actions to match what the car expects - as someone on another forum accurately described I feel like “ a monkey pulling levers”.
I have tried driving all the time with traction full off, but I like some nannies for everyday driving, and also that mode loses the sport plus throttle that I like.
I turned off the rev match today by coding and the car is hugely improved. Now I can actually drive the car. Confidence to come into a turn on a downshift is back, and the car is now fun to drive. I know what it is going to do. ( am I the only one who has come in hot, banged it down a gear only to have the engine still be revving up as the clutch goes out - it’s scary. )
I like the sport plus throttle ( I know some find it too aggressive ), and now I can drive through town without the embarrassingly huge blip when I go down to second. To me it also feels like the car has stopped playing with the throttle on upshifts too - I find it much easier to drive with smooth changes that I control. Taking off is no issue.
Maybe it’s just me. I’m used to racing vintage where I have to be fast/smooth with the controls to avoid blowing the old gearboxes, so I toe/heel without even thinking. However, for me, This car is much, much better under “manual” throttle control.
Thanks again.
( BTW everything went as expected with the coding. I do now have to hit the start twice, but otherwise no negative impact. I have noticed the clutch needs to held down for a second or two on start, otherwise it will cut out - I assume that’s because it cannot “see” the second clutch switch any more)

I drove up to Peter earlier this year just to drive his car for a few minutes and try out the flywheel before I purchased one. The folks at the Canadian border just didn't believe me when I told them that was the only reason for my trip; they pulled me over to search my car. LOL
We ended up hanging out for the evening and I went home the next morning after breakfast.
So... let's make the trip into something more - Who else is down for a meetup?

Lol... no kids, no wife, no animals..
My MIL is rolling into town soon and staying until after the holidays...not that's bad thing... she's pretty funny but she'll be in the guest room. If you don't mind an air matress in the office, we can work something out...

God I miss those days. Just kept some clothes and a toothbrush in the back of the car and would leave work and head...wherever

Just bought a bypass harness to bypass ASD (Active Sound Design) It's the sound they add to the speaker system to "enhance the driver experience"

This is dumb...shouldn't even be necessary.
It reminds me of an autonomous BMW concept car that I saw on the Gram. BMW's response to one of the comments was something along the lines of "We always put the driver first." How BMW? How are you going to do that with an autonomous car?

I think this can also be bypassed with coding... I remember doing it with the F30 loaner I had.

I loved the auto rev match feature. I wish my E92 did it like it does with the DCT models.
All the fun of shifting your own gears with none of the years of practice to get heel toe to barely work for you. Loved it. Felt like I was Senna on the test drive.

Yes it can be done with coding but some have had problems after coding. Plus if the dealer had to do something or upgrade the software it will be less hassle

Yea it was fun at first. Especially if your driving line a race car but as dd, it gets old real quick.

I’m coming around to NoVAphotog’s opinion in my 2018 ZHP. Beginning to grow on me. Also reasonable for my son (18) to drive with less MT experience.

I coded out the rev matching today using a Veepeak OBDII BT interface and Bimmercode for iPhone. Pretty cool app that can code most modules in the car. It can code most F & G series, i3, i8 and some Minis
The Veepeak is on Amazon and here's the link to Bimmercode: http://bimmercodeapp.com/
I didn't get a chance to take it on more than a couple mile test drive but it feels like a normal car now. You have to drive it... if that makes sense. It also seems like the revs don't drop as fast but it still chops the throttle in sport+ mode. I need to spend more time in the driver seat. to really figure it out.
I can't wait to hear what Kristen thinks of it when she drives it to work tomorrow...
Nice.

That's awesome. Nice work, Rob!
So the issue was wanting to drive the car in Sport/Sport+ where it turned on the rev-match feature automatically, but disable it like you did? IIRC it is disabled in Normal mode, correct?

Rev match is on every mode unless you turn off DSC completely.

Not on Sport+ though; I think that's the only mode where it's turned off by default. I also believe Sport+ turns off DSC on its own. It really doesn't make any sense; I'd imagine if you're on a track, that's where you'd want the rev match feature.

Hmm...weird. I remember when I test drove the 2016 model it drove normally on Normal mode and I put it into Sport+ and experienced the rev match feature. Simply turned it off by going back to Normal. They must have changed it.

Thanks Rob! If the wife is happy, I'm happy too... happy wife = happy life :)
Rev match is on in Sport+. Sport+ only turns off some features of DSC, etc. You have to use the DSC button to turn off everything. To be honest, we never drive the car in normal mode so I'm not sure what's on or off in that mode... I'm going to have to see if I can code it to default in sport+
When driving like a race car, rev matching is great but how many times are we going to do that in every day driving? If we take the car to a track, I'd probably code it back on... at least when I drive it :) I have good heal & toe skills... all the way back to my trucking days at 18 yrs old but on the track, if you can eliminate that, you can concentrate more on your braking & lines... I have heard someone complain that on the track, the rev matching is too slow but I'd love the opportunity to find out...
Funny that to turn off the rev match you are disabling one of the clutch pedal switches. This changes the behavior of the car starting. It now takes two presses of the start button to start the car and you still have to hold the clutch in. Plus on your second push of the start button, you have to hold it down a little longer. Not a big deal but I still wish there was a button or a setting in iDrive to easily disable it. It takes about 10 minutes to change it through coding because you have to wait for the software to read all the modules, do a backup, then make your changes and write back to the module

That is strange. The F80 M3 is coded to have it enabled in Normal and Sport, but Sport+ disables the rev-matching feature. I wonder why they did it differently for the F87.

Should be rev matching every single shift!
I've been doing this for at least 10 years. I attribute this to being a major reason for why my original clutch still had life on it after getting replaced at 298k miles. :)

The M3 is definitley coded different. We've had a couple of M3/M4 owners try it and they've verified
