Not at all man, I work with a lot of "industry" girls and the one thing I have learned is that they are really just nerdy normal people like the rest of us. They treat their jobs like a job and if you didnt know who they were, you wouldnt know what they do.

Trevor, I shoot with a Nikon. No L glass here. Instead, I was using a 14-24 f/2.8 lens.

I'm still a newbie but could this be a longer exposure time? Leaving it open for even a half second or second lets more light in right?

I shot this at 1/30 of a second (at 14mm). ISO was at 250 and I shot at f/2.8 (wide open). Gave me all the light I needed. Note that there is sun sneaking in through the building, too. I got all the light I needed without having to bump up ISO and without having to do a long exposure.

also expose for whats in front of you, not the sun. you can tell you had to use fill light or dodge the buildings to not be black.
you'll blow out the sky but thats kinda the cool effect.

if you expose for the sun everything else will be super underexposed.

Dear moderators, I am making this request in public because I think it is something that benefits our whole gaggle.

I would like to see this forum opened up to cell phone shots, in recent developments with instagram and cell phone sensor quality improving, I believe there to be reasonable opportunity for people to create some great images.

That said.......I would still ask that we keep things in here photographic in nature, not snap shotty.

We can discuss or you can decide against it, I have no ill will either way. I just have recently seen some amazing stuff via cell phone pics and even my idol, Chase Jarvis, says that the best camera is the one you have with you.
