You know that not a single person has mentioned that aspect of this photo at the C. Withers Media Group Facebook fan page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/C-Withers-Media-Group/114804655257811).

I got to this location early so that I could do some test shots. I was going for the "doorway" look, so I could not shoot this pier dead center. I spend a lot of time researching my locations and I knew this was the look I wanted. I also knew what mood I was looking for too, which is why I had to wake up well before sunrise. This shot was taken at 7:11 AM; I got here a little before 6 AM.

I appreciate you guys taking the time to notice the small things. I geek out about the small stuff, too.

Some of my recent work, during the past month, has been getting those kinds of comments. I can't defend it. Some of the stuff I've been shooting is unreal.

Yeah... And I meant that as a compliment.

Unreal subject matter always helps (we are only as good as our tools/media in some sense)... But a mature, developed, educated, and inspired vision/ eye takes work from "good" to " unreal".

Making something natural look artificial is a mark of a master.

Anytime one can "phase shift" a medium, context, or state... One has transcended limitations.

Hence the phrase... "She's so good at 'x' she makes it look easy..."
