Maybe there was some legal ramifications with it's use on the street. They still offer a solid aluminum one for track:

Anyone have experience with Precision Autowerks in Raleigh, NC? My buddy's 550i just got a VERY expensive service estimate from the dealer, and he's looking for a good indie to vet the estimate.
I haven't used them but I was actually just at Shade Tree Garage in Raleigh today with my car getting a PPI done for the new owner and that place is really neat. They only work on BMWs and appear to have really good reviews. Maybe your buddy could check their price?
For those of you who have full detail/paint correction, how do you find a place to go and how much do you typically spend? I know that's going to vary widely, but any general info is appreciated.
I haven't bought one but I have used yelp to find detailing places, and then research from there. There was a highly rated place mentioned in some magazine that also happened to be close by, though the prices seem to reflect. If I needed paint correction, that would be the place to go. The other option would be a friend of a friend that does on the side, or getting my lazy ass to try it myself.
Ok so all of a sudden I'm getting the airbag light on my dash... all recalls are up to date so I have no idea why it's lighting up. Wire disconnection? Idk, anybody else experience this even after airbags were replaced(keep in mind replaced like 3 months ago)?

So I have an Anker smart charger thats supposed to output 2A into each of its 2 ports, that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket up front. Although my phone says its being charged, the battery percentage does not increase and may even decrease if i'm navigating and playing music through it. Could it be the socket needs to be replaced or is the charger the question?
I am in the midst of hooking up my AEs to the LCM pin 44 (similar to the euro city lights DIY: http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showt...E-style-wiring)
Question: In terms of coding what do I need to do in order to activate pin 44? I currently have FL_DRL_MIT_RL (tail light DRL) and PO_ALS_DRL set to aktiv but that doesn't seem to cut it. The tail lights are on as DRL but there is no voltage on pin 44 for my AEs.
I would check the charging cable as well. I've had some charging cables start malfunctioning when they've been kinked so much. Just a thought.
I've had the same thought but the anker charger is fairly expensive and i've used their products in the past and they've all been great. I've also tried charging my phone without playing music or navigating and it will gain no more then 5% over an hour commute, which is pretty ridiculous. I do remember when I first purchased the charger, I would get 10-15% after just a few minutes.
I'd go by Target tomorrow, buy one of the Belkins and try it out. If it works better, you know it was the weak link. If not, return it and consider yourself one step closer to a diagnosis lol. I had to buy a Belkin in a pinch when I drove to buy my M3 seats (my $5 cheapo charger finally went to cheapo charger heaven), and was pleasantly surprised.
I have an Aukey or Anker or Belkin (can't remember which) and the charging is definitely not that slow. It's slower when using navigation and other data-heavy apps, but it still charges.
My first thoughts would be your charger or the USB cable is defective.
Anyone good at identifying brake pads? My search skills are coming up empty. (These were the 135i front pads that came with the brakes). This was the clearest picture I could get.

My search came up with Duralast Max, possibly DGC1371M.
Not sure where else to post this thought thread wise, but I was just thinking about the "clichiness" of the mafia. Before you berate me hear me out lol, I thought it was funny to see in a for sale thread that when someone sold their car others not only congratulated them, but also mentioned looking forward to meeting the new site member. I'm not against this mentality, I think it's greatly confident, and it really showcases the difficulty of owning a BMW.
Here's what I mean: you own a ZHP and want to join a forum to talk about your vehicle, makes sense, but your options are limited; regular e46 guys hate you, M3 guys are better than you, e30 guys are too wise, e90 guys think you're outdated, and e36 guys are still in high school/early twenties chopping their cars into drift missiles. (Please take this satirically, I should point out, not to offend anyone who owns any of these fine bimmers).
There's really only one place you can go to talk about your ZHP with open arms, and it's not only cool but also demonstrative of the struggle of BMW ownership even within its own community.
What're your guys thoughts? Not trying to take any side on this, just want to start a discussion

Let's not clutter up this thread with that discussion. Please start a separate thread.

For those of you that clean your engine bay(s), what brush(es) do you use to get into hard to reach nooks and crannies (or alcoves)?
So who's going to be the first to try these?

Anyone ever had to re-glue their door panels, in particular the silver dot fabric on alcantara cars? My Florida car got wrecked by the sun for 10 years and the panel fabric released like the pillar/headliner fabric tends to do. I'm wondering if it would be a waste of time to attempt a re-glue.
I mean the adhesive has just given up completely

Anyone know which clips are the ones that attach the sill covers? Are they 51478234047?
Not sure about the number right off but I'm quite sure I have some. Want them? 04101 here
Oooh I just want one or two if you have them! I'm planning to swap out my dead pedal and I know I will snap one of these in the process. Do they look like this:

Does anyone else ever feel like their clutch just has an "off" day? Like some days it'll be smooth as butter, but days like today just disengaging first gear causes the whole car to buck once I get my foot halfway through the clutch kick.

That's them. They're tough af tho. I don't think you'll need extras. I pulled off both sill covers without damaging any of them. If you're lucky, you can slide the sill cover back [I think] and off of those clips entirely. Then you can pull them out one by one with pliers and mount them in the cover for reinstallation.
YES. Even after removing the CDV, my clutch and I still have days where we just can't get on the same page. I don't know what it is...I just assume it's me... typical BMW abusive relationship...
I'm a bit curious as to whether you're working on your dead pedal or sill cover. I have (coupe) sill cover clips, which by the way do not permit sliding the sill cover off because the center clip is mounted 90º off from its neighbors.
