What'd that cost you?
Excuse my ignorance, what is that for?
It holds the engine in place when you drop the front subframe. So this comes in handy for removing engine mounts and changing the oil pan gasket among other things.

And get this...I finally fixed my radiator! It wasn't mounted in place properly so there was a large gap between the condenser and the rad. Gave it some persuasion and in she went. Herra frush.

I thought it was something like that, but wasn't sure. Very cool. Must be a strong piece of steel/strong mount points.
Its rated for 1000lbs.
And it was $67.83 after a 20% coupon and taxes, Dario. Harbor freight :-)

It was applicable for both!! I got mine in a mailer.
Another fine example of a driver side engine mount from a high mileage e46.

Dang that mount is destroyed.
Same thing happened to the 328i driver mount.
Made a decision to skip transmission mounts because they are cheap and can be done whenever.
Not doing my filter or FCABs today either. Honestly just gonna do RTABs and call it a day.

Good work. I wish I was this motivated to maintain my car lol. I don't feel like doing anything to it, but it needs so much. :rofl
I will be doing akg fcab next week on the wife's car.
Let us know what you think of the akg rtab bushings and the tool you are going to use. That is high on my list.
I rented it from Imola.ZHP (Marcus) for a very reasonable fee. It works beautifully. First side is done no issues.

Any pics of the old bushings ? Curious to see how they look with your mileage on them. Probably still are the original oem ones?

Replacing the engine mounts between cars was a total bitch. Thankfully I won't have to do it again. RTABs are good. Honestly the old ones weren't that bad. But I did it and its done. It was quite easy with the tool I rented from Marcus.
I need an alignment, but I scribed some lines beforehand to put them back in their previous positions. This should get me through the weekend. I intend to get an alignment after Monday should I have a day off.
75D engine mounts are also just as ridiculous as I remember. Loud, obnoxious, but most of all, I won't put a dent in my hood due to a broken driver side mount.
Having a birthday brew and going out to DuClaw for beers and good food.
Til tomorrow my friends, thanks for the birthday wishes and good night!

Dang that rtab tool has some serious and very necessary beef to it.
Here's a quick comparison of my old rtabs. 103k on mine.

How do you press them back in?
Thumbs, iPhone, Tapatalk.
The bushings in have are split in half and go in with a lil' elbow grease. But there is another larger block that will allow you to press the new bushing in.

I didn't realize how little was involved with the OEM alarm system...I don't have one in the ZHP...but the 328i has one!! Guess I'll be taking that out tomorrow and swapping between.
Tonight I'm going to find out if you can disassemble the trunk handle so I don't have to buy/paint a new one. Corrosion has made it's way into the LP light terminals.
Wait...are they different part numbers between Pre LCI and LCI???
I got my 328i assembly separated only broke one clip on the painted piece. I can epoxy everything back together. And while I'm sure the gasket is toast, I'm going to see if I can get it to work before I spend more money at the dealer.
I should add, that the left LP light is damaged.

Gasket is shifted out of place allowing water to collect in heavy rain.

Asking around for replacements.
Today I was able to swap the necessary pieces for the alarm retrofit. Now my lights flash in sync with the door locks. Before, the lights would flash a few seconds AFTER the door locks engaged or disengaged.
However, I had to mount the siren with a zip tie while I wait for the body nut or prizal cage (how BMW refers to it) to be shipped to the dealer. Crossing that bridge when we get to it.
In other news! A gentleman that works at the dealer is interested in my 135s. I would be getting his sport wheels in place with a few bucks on my end. Then I can move the 328 with the style 44s instead of the 135s.

Subbing, will read from beginning after finals.
Planning my sunroof delete. The UK eBay site is loaded with anthracite non-sunroof headliners from 318 sedans. 40£ plus freight. Seems like a solid price!

How's their condition?

Great news...I broke both dash trim pieces on the radio and the passenger side. I used epoxy to affix the pin that connects the two together. But when I installed it, it snapped from the bond. While removing the pin from the brand new orange dash clip, it snapped the mount hole.
All of this while attempting my Bluetooth install. It didn't work out with my iPod connectivity. And after reinstalling the DICE unit it wont read my iPod. So now I just have the radio and two new dash pieces to buy...

Wow, that didn't go very well. Hope you have better luck with the next attempt.

One step forward and two steps back, it happens buddy. Its frustrating, but hang in there, you'll get it worked out eventually.
Dang. Sorry to hear.

The problem will be finding used pieces that aren't part of a set. Buying new will mean the new ones won't match. This isn't a good situation. :(

Yeah all because of a missing pin. I will find it on ebay.de probably from a compact or something silly.

Have you tried JB Weld? I broke the piece that covers the lcm and my JB weld bond has held up.
I used JB plastic weld. Maybe I need to use something else.
But honestly I'm down for new or used good condition pieces.
Sent from my GS3.
When mine broke, I used hot glue. I've had it on and off several times without issue. I think the JB weld is too brittle. Hot glue retains flexibility.
What color is your cube? I may have a spare piece. Maybe we can get you fixed up when you come up for the meet...

I think I have the piece for over the radio... It repaired but still works.
